Sig four star 120 w/dle 20
Posted this on the gas forum too, but I believe it deserves to on this forum too. This was my winter project and first gasser. Engine flies this bird great. A perfect match. The plane has lived up to its reputation.

Nice and clean.
How does the DLE 20 run/ Have you used other gassers before. Interested in the DLE motor. Keep me posted on how it does after it gets broken in and used up a bit.
I'm a Zenoah fan, they just keep getting better.
But DLE has some really good pricing.

The dle was so easy to tune w/a few flips and the engine comes to life. I found it easier to tune than any glow engine. Even though I'm still breaking in the engine, it has plenty of power to scoot this plane. It's a good pairing. Enough power to move the plane, but not crazy/scary fast. Torque is plenty. Full throttle on take off creates plenty of right thrust.
I made a few changes to the kit. Made an access panel to the fuselage. Also, moved the tank directly below the CG above wing. The gas engine permits this relocation, unlike the glow. Had to add about 10 oz to the nose to balance her.
The plane is a joy to fly. So many people recommended this plane, and it didn't dissapoint.

I am curious, I have the same kit and I was contemplating using a Zenoah 38.
Doe it fly like a trainer? Could you do some aerobatics?
It would be very,very nice if you could make a video.

i have the 20 on a showtime and its very close to 9 lbs and the 20 can do it all to include T-roll on that weight. the pull out is slugging but it does pull out.....

The 4* series has a large following and has proven through the years to be a standard for sport planes. I personally am new to the 4*. But it can and will do tight rolls, KE, etc. However, I would say, it's more of a sport than 3D plane.
There are dozens of youtube videos on the 4* series.
I does not fly like a trainer, rather a sport plane. It does have good landing characteristics and some even mention that it floats too much, but I like it just the way it is.
The DLE 20 has plenty of steam for the sig 4*120. Could you put a bigger engine on, yes. However, I think it's a good pairing.

Hey guys, would you see any issue with putting a DLE20RA (rear exhaust) into the four*120? Instead of putting a wrap around Pitts or the stock side muffler (and thereby cutting into the cheeks).
