RE: Sig Kavalier Build
KAVALIER MAIDEN VOYAGE!!!! Well, we maidened the Kav on Sunday afternoon after the Vikiings lost to the Steelers. Not much to report except that the airplane flew perfectly! He Kav required absolutely zero trim adjustment on any og =f the three axis of flight. The ship proved very difficult to stall, and when it did, the nose simply mushed over with no tendancy to roll off in either direction. The OS 46 pulls the airplane with authority!! Can't wait to see what it does when the engine is completely broken in. Should be a real screamer. This airplane tacks like its on rails. Rolls are axial with just 15 percent differential programmed in. I setup flaperons with 50 percent extension. Not needed as this airplanes really slows down to a crawl without it. I decided to impolement this as a flapp trainer for my son prior to moving into a more scale warbird. Inverted flight requires very little down elevator. Knife edge pulls inside to be expected with the rake of the rudder to the longitudinal axis. The Kav lands like a trainer - nuff said on that. This is simply a wonderful airplane. You really can't beat the kit quality in these SIG kits in both the design and flying qualities! Now we just have to wait until spring. Awe shucks!
