Default goldberg ultimate cg and flight quirks

I am finally ready to fly my goldberg ultimate and was wondering what cg would be the best for this plane. Also any advise on how this plane will handle in the air and for landings?
Thanks
Jeff

I had one of these that I sold (I was stupid!)and am now building another. CG for me was at the plan position. I've gotta tell you, probably one of the sweetest planes I've ever had. What they say in the ads are pretty much true. Shove the throttle forward and hang on, it'll do it all. Landings are slow and easy. She'll grease herself right in. If you've built her straight, she'll almost land herself. VERY predictable! One of my favorite birds of all time!

Agreed, the Ultimate is one of the nicest landing airplanes I have flown. Love to shoot touch and goes with it all day long. About the only negative thing that can be said is that it does not glide very well in a dead stick situation, lots of drag. Beyond that I can't say that it has any quirks really, just goes where you point it. I love mine!

I run my CG at 3" back from the LE of the lower wing. I just flip the plane over and use my fingers. The lower wing will now be on top and I just pick it up. One thing on the Ult CG, it's not real sensitve. You can be a little forward or aft of it and the plane will still fly fine under power. If it is to far forward the landing speed will go up. To far aft and your rolls will not stop in an instant and you will have a lot of coupling on KE.

BEST FLYING BIRD I'VE EVER HAD!!!!!!!!!!! daveopam is exactly right with the c.g. thats were I fly mine at to and she is a groovy son of a gun!

I got mine to weigh in at 6 lbs, with a ST.90 Zinger Pro 15-5 prop with morgan cool power 5% and I prefer it over all of my other, bigger planes.

YOU WILL HAVE A BLAST!!!!!!!

James
