Default Balsa USA Phaeton question

As i'm still working on my corsair I can't help but to browse for a "next" plane. I can see why alot of you guys have a bunch of planes, Sooo many choices! I really look to pick up a spacewalker and just found this Phaeton from Balsa USA http://www.balsausa.com/store/produc...id_product=835. My question is could this plane be built with out the top wing? How would it fly? With out the top wing it looks very similar to the spacewalker. At this rate i'm going to end up with bunch kits on a shelf! But that ok with me, i'll just keep building wich is fun to me.

Thanks

It could easily be done, but will require some bashing skills.

You'll need to build each of the lower wing halves about 2 to 3 bays longer - which will require making a few extra ribs (unless the ribs on top are the same size and shape) and replacing the spars, LE and TE with longer ones.

I don't know for sure, but I'll bet the Phaeton has two wings for the purposes of generating enough lift to fly it comfortably. You might take the extra ribs not used on the top wing and extend the lower one. Then you have to figure out how to splice on to your spars, leading and
trailing edges. But why would you want to? Get what you want...and if what you want is a
Spacewalker, then get it!

But but, I want both. lol Seems like it will take more skill than I have at the moment..lol Was just curious because I like the look of low winged planes. I could learn to love it as is though. lol

Thanks guys!
