Kadet Senior Aileron Servo Request
Finally finishing up the first wing half (yep, I'm a slow builder) with barn door ailerons and am trying to design the aileron servo mounting area. 2 Questions: 1) Are Futaba S3004 servos too heavy for the wing mounting (if so, what do you recommend). and 2) Where might I find information on building servo access doors into the wing?
Any help would be much appreciated.

Those servos will be fine.
For the hatch, omit two capstrips and sheet the bay instead with sheeting that is the same thickness as the cap strips. Then, double the sheeting on the inside with 1/32" Ply. Cut the hatch out, and add blocks to mount the servos (make sure to make a right and a left!). Also add blocks inside the wing for the hatch to mount to.

Servo Info
Minflyer, thank you very much for the info. This is exactly what I was looking for. I am not exactly sure what you mean by "cap strips" as the Senior uses spars and ribs and only sheets the wing tip and inner 2 ribs per wing side, but I understand the layout configuration you have drawn so well.
Thanks again.

Ok, my boo boo. I forget that Sig doesn't cap the ribs all of their planes.
A cap strip is a strip of balsa (usually 1/4 x 3/32") that is glued to the top and bottom of each rib to make it wider where the covering will attach. If your plane doesn't have them, just line the sheeting up with the bottom edge of the ribs so it will conform to their shape.

Servo Info
Thanks fellas! I am reducing the dihedral by 1/2, and upon advice from a fellow considered the local building guru, I'm extending the top spar to bottom spar webbing all the way across the wing for stiffness. Now that I have the wing half almost finished, it does seem kind of heavy compared with others I have "weighed".

The plane has such a huge wing area that you could hang your starter under it and it would fly! Don't worry about the weight of the wing. A minor point about shear webs. I use them because they add great stiffness to the wing but little weight. But you really don't need them near the tip because there is no great load out there.

RE: Kadet Senior Aileron Servo Request
But how do you get the screws into the servo or do you use another method to mount the servo to the vertical blocks??
Miloh.
After looking I see, the servo comes out with the hatch, correct??
