OK so how did you come up with 70" for 26cc?

Id rather go with a 20cc i think , so how should I scale that?

Thanks,
Bill S.

I put the out line in the computer, and started scaling it. I scaled it so the firewall was the minimum for the motor mount of the 26.

The 40 has a 48" span, I have a 60 size kit that is 61" span. The firewall for the 60 was too small for the 26.

i had the 26 on a 72" yak that weighs 11 pounds. It flew very nice but it wasn't over powered. I ended up putting a 30 on it and was better.

i had a balsa USA stingray with a 68" span weighed 9 pounds with a 20. Not over powered but flew really Nice.

so I felt this size for the 26. I think the 60 kit at 61" would be great with a 20.

if you scratch build one for the 20 60-65" would be a start.

just my thoughts, you don't know til you start building

That is just sweet!!!!!!!! Love your colors and scheme! Just an FYI, I built the 60 sized kit, it just didnt feel like an Uproar... I think the scale is off a bit too on the 60, It looks like you nailed it perfectly with this one!!!! I am thinking that is a fairly big canopy, where were you able to find it? Great job! Very curious how she flies!

Cool Short Video of the Red Uproar

Been a while –

In the beginning of this thread “AllTheGoodNamesAreTaken” posted a picture of his (a) uproar inverted on the deck. Well, I have wanted a shot like that with one of my uproars pretty much every since I saw that picture.

After much practice and a chance to get a friend to video it for me, I have finally got a shot of mine inverted and on the deck – more or less…..

Just a short video of the Red Uproar yesterday..

Rick, It's not only on sale today but everything at Tower ships free until the 31st! I've always wanted to have one and this morning I pulled the trigger. FYI: The listing shows that quantities are limited.

Default Uproar on Ebay –for $51 plus $15 shipping

EBay bidders sometimes really surprise me.
Obviously this bidder doesn’t watch this thread or shop at Tower Hobbies

Aside from the periodic sales on this kit from Tower,
The current regular price is $54.99 with free shipping…. With super saver you get $10 off that
for a grand total:

$44.99 brand new…..
delivered to the front door
versus

$66.00 with EBAY bid??????

Maybe I am missing something - who knows.....

Almost took mine out today. Yeah, that kit is very unusual for the price you can get it on sale from Tower. I've been looking at one of my model airplane roots, a Controline Ringmaster S-1 kit and at $89.00, I just shake my head in disbelief.

Yeah, I like Ebay, but the best advice I could give anybody buying on Ebay is know the value of whatever you are buying. There are some buyers on Ebay that are buying so that they can resell what they buy. And there are buyers out there that will over spend either not knowing the value or they just have to have it. So when it comes to Ebay, and I think I got a deal on something I want, I will jump on it. Sometimes I will check between Omni Models and Tower (same) to see it there is a difference. So yeah, if you want a Tower Uproar, they go on sale at Tower, and it can really be a good deal, especially if you get free shipping.

I've averaged less than two trips a month to the flying field with the uproars this year.
So far I have only logged 6 flights on the purple one and 49 flights on the red one.

I did get out last Sunday and fly the purple uproar. It had not been in the air for quite a while. I think I finally got the new airfoil shaped ailerons adjusted well enough to make me happy. It's back to being my favorite of the three uproars I built.

After flying the purple one with the ST51 - now I have decided I am going to have to pull the ST40 off of Red and put a ST51 back on it. Just too much more fun with the extra power/thrust with no weight penalty.

I crashed my ringmaster a few months ago on the second flight. Those were the first two flights it had seen in over 25 maybe 30 years. It should be repairable. But, Ive not touched it other than cleaning up the engine real well.

Yeah I took out my ancient (from the '80's) Flite Streak with a Fox 35 and put on 3 flights. I was rusty and shaky, but the more I flew the more comfortable I was feeling. I got to get my Uproar prepped so that I can grab it and go fly. Haven't had it out this whole season, but I haven't gotten out as much as I would have liked to. Shoot, I got a Escapade 40 waiting for its maiden. I got to get out there.

Post Meaningless Tidbits

Shortly I will make a second post for the "Year in Review". That way it will end up on the top of the next page.

Can you believe there was no sale on the Uproar this Christmas season?
That's too bad for those looking for a new Uproar to start the new year.
That was a killer sale back in May though.
With all that said, $55 is not a bad deal ...

I wonder how many of the uproars (dazzlers) on this thread are still logging some flights.
Would love to read some stories..

All three of my uproars are still in existence. The Blue one still needs the firewall repaired. Otherwise it's in good shape.
I made it out to the field with them a little more this year compared to last. Still only a combined total of 64 flights between the red and purple ones. A combined number of flights between all three over the last 5-1/2 years is 431
For grins the flight(s) graph is below.
Flight Total Each:
Blue 108
Purple 135
Red 188
