Default Sig Four Star 40 pictures

I got the Sig Four Star 40 kit for my 30th birthday. I finished most of it, let it sit. 6 years later, I wrapped her up, and thought I would share the pictures with my peeps on RCUniverse. This plane is powered by a OS .46 AX, and runs with a Futaba 6EXA radio setup. It has not flown yet, and not sure when/if I will have the nerve to take her up. My other plane is a Sig Kadet LT40 with about 100 flights on her.

What do you guys think? Think I need to get the LT-40 back together again for a few test-flights before taking up my new plane?

-Tom

Very sweet looking bird!!! I want one now! but you just gotta put a cool pilot in it! I love using oddball pilots like Ren and Stimpy, Gumby and Pokey and hopefully going to find a Rat Fink for my next one. I put a "Big Bird" in my Goldberg Cub it looked great. Again, Superb job!!!!

Six years?!?! I don't feel so bad now. Mine has been hanging for only three years.

You did a lovely job on the covering! She really looks nice.

Great looking plane. The Four Star is a piece of cake to fly. If you have 100 flights on an LT-40 you will have no problems. You will find it a lot easier to control than a trainer, and a lot more fun to fly. The only real difference is that you need to re-level it after you turn, it won't self-level like a trainer, but that is what makes it so much more fun to fly.

Good luck. You are going to love it.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but as good as it looks, and don't get me wrong, it looks great, but the combination of white and sky blue is going to be tough to see.

Looks great!

Lose the 10x6 and get an 11x6...Zinger or APC...also trow down da $30 for a nice Tru Turn spinner.

I'd take the trainer up a few times to get the nerves back...then let it rip. Real nice covering job.

I had a PT-40 and got a few flights on it and was afraid to get my 4*40 in the air. Once I did I liked it much better! It does fly better than a trainer. I say go for it. If it doesn't fly it is really just a cool paper weight

Now i am afraid to fly my p-51 mustang, ahhh the saga continues.....

I should be ok. I come from a generation that played video games growing up. The wings are a solid blue on the underside, so there is some contrast there.

Someone suggested that I set the aerlons to be flush with the underside of the wing, which is actually indicated in the kit plans. I'd assume that will increase have a positive effect on slow landing approaches.

What does the 11X6 prop do for me???

Strange how the drawings show the airelons flat to the underside of the wing and yet they say to use the APG gauge. Id like to know this also.
