What's going on the board this season?
So another year has passed and now were into the building season, just a simple question, what are you planning on building this winter season? Perhaps a scratch, vintage or current kit,......Just looking to see what build threads are going to appear this winter season. Me, I have a few to choose from, but I narrowed it down to either the vailly FW-190 or the hostetler skybolt.

Sig Somethin Extra. 40 size w/ Super Tiger 60. I'm thinking about taking a bay off each side of the wing & adding 3/8 to 1/2" to rudder & elevator. Also, making a balsa cowl for looks. I'm looking for a Sig Extra 60 size to replace the one I built last winter & lost on it's maiden while trying to trim it out. ( I have a Super Tiger 90 laying around for power) I found out that the Extras tip stall real easy the hard way ! Don't have a whole lot of time for building down here, as I try to fish every day. ( Winters in Florida & summers in Indiana)

I'm all set to build a golden age Travel Air 6000. It will be scratch built using a 1963 plan doubled in size to 98" wing. Got the plan from the AMA Plan Service and a box of Balsa came from Balsa USA last week. Unfortunately the building board that was just freed up after finishing a rebuild of a Taylorcraft re-aquired the same plane following a trial run deadstick and crash.
I'd decided to delay the Travel Air build to get the Taylorcraft rebuilt again but am having an emotional struggle as my heart was set on starting the Travel Air build and now that the wood is here... I'm ready. I'm tempted to carry the Taylorcraft to the barn and rest it until into it again.
Will sleep on it tonight and decide in the morning.
I've made a spot on the Vintage and Golden Age forum for the Travel Air build.

I'm working on another 1/5 standoff scale British SE-5a to replace the one I augered into the ground from a dumb move with my Tx. And secondly I'm venturing into my first 50cc gasser with an old rebuilt "Lift Meister" with a 105" wingspan that I hope to turn into a photography platform of some sort.

Two Astro Hogs (one for me, one for a fellow club member), a GP Dazzler, a Barnstormer (CL old time stunter for a fellow club member) and a Scared Kitten (CL old time stunt ship for me). Also have a GP Spectra ARF sailplane to get assembled and in the air.
Gonna be spending a lot of time in the shop. I love it!!! Plus, I am in Florida. We fly all winter.

Lets see, it has been a good year for me building. I built a 1/5 scale cub covored in sig koveral(first time for me), a four star 120 with a g38 on the front(first gasser), and a GP Extra 300s. I think I like this building stuff. Just last night I started a Dynaflite corsair.
Happy building and Mery CHRISTmas.

I am building a senior telemaster that I call "Senior Telemaster Of The Third Kind" because of what I am doing with it has never been done. I will post a build on it as soon as I get my camera to upload pictures again.

RE: What's going on the board this season?
I just started on my Midwest Stearman (the tail is built and I just glued the crutch and the keel together last night). Picked up a Saito 1.25 for it on the auction site. I may try to squeeze in something small as well. I have a cox queen bee laying around that might end up on a DNU. Oh yeah, I need to fix the small bipe that I drove into the ground last month, either fix it or find something else for a Magnum .15. I had thought about doing a thread on the Stearman, but once I start building, I never think to stop and take pictures, We'll see how that works out.

It's not a kit but mine will be a 1934 Nemeth Umbrellaplane in 1/4 scale so span will be 48" and length will be 73". It had black fuse and fin/ rudder and gold wing and stab.

Finnishing up framing an old Great Planes Cap 21 .60 size which will be Electic as everything else I build from here on. After this I am working on a F-82 scratch build 78" wing will have 2 .46 electrics, retracts and flaps. I also have a set of plans for an F-82 123" wingspan.

ARUP; Now that looks like a very interesting plan to build. I'd be interested in hearing how it flies and the build itself.

Right now I have a Herr Cloud Ranger on the bench and about 3/4ths done. Power will be a TT .07. Next is a GP Tutor for some park action and yesterday I orded a BUSA Enidecker 90 that will be powered with a Saito 100.
So far this year I have built a 4*40 and 60. And Goldberg Eaglet 50.

RE: What's going on the board this season?
After assembling a series of .40-.70 size ARFs this past year, I've returned to the satisfaction of building from a kit. I just finished a Sig "Mid-Star 40" with an O.S. 52 4-stroke up-front and am half-way through a Balsa USA "Phaeton II" that will have a Magnum 4-stroke for power. Gotta love the 4-strokers! I've posted a couple of shots of the "Mid-Star".
