RE: What is the best brand of CA?
I used several different brands and Zap seems to work best for me. I only use Med CA in my builds, use to use thin for hinges, but use only Robart hindge points now,

RE: What is the best brand of CA?
I 'm with Minnflyer and go for the best price. I've tried all the major brands over the years and they all acheive similar results (glued fingers/smoked canopies/runs-drips across the covering).
Last few years I have been buying the bulk stuff from "themudduck" on Ebay. About once a year I stock-up with thin and meduim then keep it in the fridge throughout the summer months. The 500ml bottles of Foam Safe Kicker go a long ways when applying with an eye dropper. Even have plenty to give away to friends throught the year. I don't see any significant difference in bulk versus the expensive bottles of the name brands.
Regards,
Xwing

Fellows, I have used Balsa USA CA for years now with very good results. Believe the triple distallation makes the producd dry very fast. Guess it is just our own choice.

I was choosing by the ease of package - if the bottle cannot be closed or opened easily than you will not get to the end of the bottle anyway.
I'm hardly using CA these days health wise just on CA hinges otherwise its aliphatic everywhere else written CA and 30 min epoxy.
Believe it or not but it builds much faster with aliphatic than with CA, [:'(] Brrrrrrrr I just imagined how fun it was to glue a whole wing half with CA....

Hobby King no name, seems good, have used thin medium and thick. I like the screw tops, if you wipe them clean each time you use they seem to last quite awhile. Big bottle and low price.

Although price is certainly important to me, as I believe all CAs are pretty much the same, what seems most important to me is how easy it is to keep the bottle dispensing! I gave up on the little tubes decades ago as they only seemed to clog. Zap products have been easy to keep working and so I am loyal to them, for the above reason.

Being that I live within walking distance of a Home Depot and my LHS is a 40 minute drive away, I use Loctite! It's consistancey is somewhere between medium and thick and since I like it somewhere between thin and medium, I thin it with Tower Hobbies thin and adjust to how I like it.

Never, ever, stick anything metal into the nozzle.
Avoid if at all possible poking wood into the nozzle.
Do not breath onto the nozzle.
After using the bottle, straightaway wipe the spout with a kitchen towel, wipe the cap inside with a corner of the kitchen towel and cork the bottle. Then place the airtight cap over the nozzle.
Clean the applicator tips, at once, with tissues. Do not use pins to poke them through; if they become clogged, either cut off the blocked portion or throw them away.
Avoid sucking glue back into the bottle if it has contacted metal, wood or paper.
The object of all this is to keep reactive compounds and ions out of the bottle. Metal ions from pins will send the glue off. Cellulose wil set it off. Moisture will set it off. Hence the cleaning and prompt capping routines.
