The stringers have to be capped with balsa strips to make them even with the sheeting. Is that what you're asking?

Just got a set of plans for the 87"er! Glad I found this thread before I start mine! I have my list of parts and next month is Toledo so I will be off to the swap meet for a truck load of balsa! LOL!

JHays thank you for the build thread. I am considering scratch building one of these in the 30% 87" wingspan size. It's just an airplane you don't see anymore!
