Maiden Update
We have set the proper pitch, low & High needle settings. The prop is at 8 degrees fixed pitch and turns 6600 on the ground with 27 Pounds of thrust. I expect 68-6900 in the air which is PERFECT for this DA 85.
Boys you should here the whine off of that 4 blade when we ran it up. It howls baby and I mean it HOWLS. Sounds SOOOOOOO sweet.
Aircraft dry weight is at 28’ 7”.
I have to clean her up with some polish and we are ready for her first flight.
I received an alert from AMA today warning us in the <city></city><place></place>Charlotte area that all model aviation fields (in this part of the state) are suspended from ANY flying Friday from 10:30AM – 2:30PM because Obama is going to be here, What a Crock.
Looks like Friday afternoon or Saturday Morning to launch this puppy.
I will provide PLENTY of video fellas with some radar gun shots. I can’t wait to see what Miss Behavin is capable of but I would be willing to bet she will be in the 140 range or better.

Hey On Your Six, I am sorry you feel that way. I had made it clear that we were hoping to name the aircraft using the name Booty but that wasn't etched in concrete in my original thread starter. I also posted an additional request on pageshown above.
I hope that clears things up and thank you for your help.

Hey Condor060, I just wanted to let you know that the DX5e arrived right on time as expected. Thanks again for hosting such a fun contest!
I may need you to write a note to my wife explaining that I really won the radio for free! I'd hate for her to be up all night auditing my bank statements and credit card receipts!
