how to duplicate parts?
Hey guys can you direct me to a how to thread on how to duplicate plastic and fiberglass parts? I have a couple out of production kits with some plastic cowls, etc. that I would like to make molds for or extra parts in case I lose it or need to repair it. The main one is a Stafford Ercoupe with a large plastic multi piece cowl. If I were to damage or destroy it I don't know what I'd do. Would love to have some replacement capibility if possible. I also plan to copy all parts that are not on the plans for repairs or another model. Thanks for any direction.

If you do a search on RCU you should find a few threads on this subject, we all have a favorite way to do it. If you go to the Fiberglass specialities web site you may discover he had the parts you need either in stock or has the plugs for them. FGS has a large selection of out of production kit parts.

Usually if they have a cowl they will also have the molds for the canopys and most other parts needed for the old kit. Even when I can't find what I'm looking on there site I call and they more then often have what I need. Some of my plans call for ACE canopys or parts and FGS usually has them. Good people to work with and outstanding quality.
