Hi John,
realy good news.
By the way, happy new Year for You and Your family, especially to Your nephew!
I send some pics from my exaust-solution
It creates a very deep and warm sound, not realy like a 4-stroke but nearly and even better than a single stroke.
Regards from Germany,
Thomas

Cool work, Your video is really good.
A question > what is the weight of this stuff (gramm per square-inch), are there any experiences about resistance to fuel? And another question > in post 122 You wrote that You had changed the landig gear > are there any pics ?
Regards,
Thomas

Now that I have successfully registered to return to school for some fabrication classes, time to knock out this plane for some late spring enjoyment! I am going to rework the landing gear and exhaust with some brazing. I'll be looking into the brakes design, now that I'm looking at my previous work, Yea, it needs to be redone! The exhaust is restrictive and so I plan to open it up and braise it together(thats the plan anywayz).

Starting the process of rebuilding my exhaust system. First, I rolled some leftover aluminum computer case material around my mag light then used [h=1]aluminum brazing rod with a propane torch.[/h]

As I work to complete my exhaust i'm thinking of adding a smoke system. Iook's as if I can take advantage of the YS pressure system to drive a smoke system. I found this a schematic illustrating what looks to be a viable setup.

I've been installing the new brake system for the past couple of days. These things look good, let's hope they perform as well. What I did do was re-engineer the bearing due to the fact the one it came with was a small unit that only supported the outer portion of the wheel assembly and allowed for wobble. It now has a full length carrier and full floating aluminum bearing. I also replaced the foam 3.5inch tires with dubro rubber lo-bounce 3.25inch tires. Here are some photos of the finished work.

Your exhaust system looks very nice (if I could work with alu just like You do....). I hope the temperature in it will be high enough for the smooker, when I tested my muffler I was surprised, cause the big volume it was not so hot (I don`t burn my fingers )
By the way, some pics from my landing gear solution. Your break system is very interesting but we have a grass runway so I don`t belive that I need one ( on the other hand > newer tech is so much fun...)
this are some pics from the original, the second is from my son as he visited California last year.
After that, I had to do some moulding work, I used the plasic parts as prototype (the same as I`ve done with the cowling).
It is still simply snaped together to see how it works > I`m satisfied, it need some fine-tuning but it works as well.

Here I have some pics for You about Your "bright-polished-aluminium-version", I hope they will motivate.
Some from the www, some from my son. He visited Californialast year with his girlfriend and, cause he is a good son, he found a museum where was a Ryan hanging under the roof and so he`ve done some pics in some unusual perspectives. Enjoy

I've been working on the fuel system and figuring out the "Horn Shoeing" of three tanks onto this hull at the preferred center of gravity, an approximate...
What I've figured is that I can get two 16oz. tanks in here with the 2oz. hopper. Now I need to test the smoke tank to be sure it doesn't melt. The fuel system will be tested and if I remember to I'll video the event(heh).
I removed the two magnets in favor of a mechanical latch.
Just received the final shipment last night and now its time to get this missile ready for launch...
