my next project:

I hope it will take only 3 years. Scale 1/4.5, means 2130 mm wingspan. The engine is a 60 ccm SAITO, great stuff

When there are more pics, I start a new tread

WOW!
Those are both totally impressive projects. I would also love to use Saito power on the round engined plane.
I feel humbled to be among such talent.

I was thinking it might be one of the ST-W variants. They only built two, one converted from USAAC YPT-16 the second from USAAC PT-20A both with differnt sizes of Warner radials. The Ryan SC-W also used a Warner the 145 Hp version.

It's more likely this variant. I copied these photos from a story on the web and not too many know what this variant is. I do remember something about it being an experimental version before the war. Either way I'm looking into this beautiful plane. I hope to locate more information on it, I only know of these three photos for now and the bleek information out there for it.

Join Flickr and check/search the San Diego Air & Space Museum Archives. The museum has custody of all the old photos and documents from the Ryan Aeronautical Co. I found a lot of good pictures and data on the Ryan SC-M/W prototypes. If you don't find anything cotact the museum directly they do accept research requests!

Great Planes Ryan ARF modified by a local buddy of mine. The ST looks superb with a radial up front!

It does look pretty cool Chad!
Hey Thomasmuckus, I'm interested in your homemade muffler because it is well worth paying attention to. I like the design and the quality of your workmanship. I may have to imitate on a future project. I tried to steal only the best of ideas! ;-)

Cool

Maidenflight is done
It was very, very succesfull. The plane flies like on rails, the only thing > I added 60 g leed at the nose! (I`m always wondering how heavy can varnish be) and than, it feels like wearing old shoes, simply fantastic.

It`s a really great feeling if there are no differences at the pic "before and "after"

The pics are made with a mobile-telefon, we`ve done a videoclip too, comming soon

So, the video is also done, here it is
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CYSBV7crFFk&feature=youtu.be Now, only for John:
After finishing this plane, I can tell You the whole truth. I started with this kit in 1994. Than there was a break for close to 20 years. Many reason, other project, we have built a house, the kid and, and, and. Your thread here in rcuniverse gave me the inspiration to finish this aicraft and, to finish it in a very higher level as I`ve had planed. I`m not sure that I would be able to finish it without this help (surely from the other members in this thread too). Therefore, this first flight is only for You.
Many thanks, and God bless You, Brother in mind

Does anyone here know of someone making scale ready to install instrument panels to fit the old SIG STA kit?
