Pictures attached, if that helps.
Above the beam, balsa to the same profile as wing. Below the beam 20x6mm hardwood epoxied on and blind not hammered in, after drilling from underside through the wing.

One just went. For $250 on Ebay
My last one I paid $250 + $30 shipping but is is pristene and complete.

GPP says they will not likely ever reintroduce the kit. When they bought CG the tooling was worn out and too expensive to retool.

I know a laser cutter it they would sell the hardware/plans and allow him to cut/supply the wood. Probably a. Long shot so just snatching kits I find. This is my favorite kit along with the Eaglet 50

Some people have all the luck! Everyone here is scurrying around, looking for Ultimate kits and for some people they just fall out of the sky:

One of the other (few) builders in our club was approached by a neighbor (friend, relative, whatever) and told that he had been given a "R/C plane kit" that he would pass along to the builder with the stipulation that he had to build the kit. My friend, the builder, thought to himself "Oh, great - now I'll have to build a trainer of some sort!" Being a nice guy, he said he would build whatever it was. You guessed it - a perfect, pristine CG 10-300 kit, never been opened. Sigh. And I wind up rebuilding old beat up Ultimates just to have one!

Anyway, he maidened it last week with an old OS FSR .91 for power, grinning ear to ear.

Grumble, grumble .... I'm so jealous!

Yeah, one of the owners of one of the LHS in the area has 4 in his collection of kits. Couldn't talk him out of just one!

Hi, I don't have the ultimate but I have the Carl Golberg bucker jugmann powered with a Saito 180, that I am also looking into converting to a DLE 20.
i tried to read most of the posts on this but they are way too many. Is the DLE20 enough? Or should I consider the DLE 30 or maybe the new DA35?

Hi!!
I'm doing the final touches on my Ultimate.
Monokote is ready, servos, rx, linkage ready.
I want to apply a sticker like the GreatPlanes "Ultimate!" lettering.
I have a few pictures from online, but they are useless for the cutting plotter.
Does anyone have a high res picture of the logo or a plotting file?
http://www.greatplanes.com/airplanes/gpma0240.html

It will give the "Ultimate!" touch to my model....

Thanks!

ThunderBoat42, Thanks.

I was also leaning more to a 30 size engine, but I am concerned with the weight of the engine and clearance from the firewall to the cowl opening.

The information on the DLE site:

DLE20RA Total: Weight: 1.92 lb (870 g) and 138mm length from carb to prop hub. Height from center hub to top of cylinder head 93mm

DLE 30RA
Total Weight: 2.77 lb (1.26 kg) and 160mm length from engine mount to prop hub. Height from center hub to top of cylinder head 110mm

DA35 Total Weight: 2,29 lb (1.042Kg) and 161mm length from engine mount to prop hub. Height from center hub to top of cylinder head 113mm

As anyone used a DLE30 on the Ultimate? do you have pictures?

Dle 30 on the ultimate is...... a waste IMHO. ....

the plane flies well in a .60... and has unlimited vertical on a 1.20 or 20 cc engine.

you'll have some serious prop clearance issues as well.
.
Certainly up to you though.... my other though is this is a 9lb plane....give or take... the extra lb the 30 and 35 add might cause some balance problems....

Yeah. The 30 would be way too much on the Ultimate. The Buckner is a bigger plane. Interesting the 35 is less weight than the 30?
Move been looking for the Buckner and the Sukoi Goldberg for a while. Missed a bid on eBay a while back. No hurry through as I have an Extra 300, another Ultimate and a Sig Kadet ahead of it. Shop time is limited in the summer. Kids and flying when I can along with maintaining a career. LOL

Go with the 20, more then plenty on mine and not a huge cowling butcher job. I just recently switched to the RA because the side muffler is louder then heck. I also use the Seaplae supply mounting plate to eliminate them heavy beam mounts, works fantastic and is an clean standpoff installation with it

Hello Founding Members,
I would be honoured to be given membership in the Ultimate club. My model is believed to be a Goldberg, however the wing span is only 50"+-, , which seems to different from assembly info from on line Goldberg info. My QT is not quite finished, power is an OS 95 FS 4 cycle. Looking forward to first flite this summer. I had only gained my wings last summer and am still flying a trainer to gain more air experience. I believe my colour scheme is quite different and will post a picture when available. Looking forward to following and gaining more info about the Ultimate bipe.
As a Canadian fan, I live only fourteen miles !!!!, from original designer of the Ultimate I fell in lust with his plane.
Cheers
FES

Hi,

I lost my CG Ultimate a while ago...
Looked and looked but never found a kit again.
I still have one sheet of the plans, the fuselage part. No idea where the wing/stabilzer plan is.

Is there someone who has an original or good quality copy of the wing/stabilzer plan?
A complete set of plans would be great too but the wing part alone should do.

Another question: is there someone who copied the parts/formers?
What's it called, traced or outlining?...

I live in Europe and I'm more than happy to pay for it!!
I'm looking forward to build me a new CG Ultimate together with my 11yo son.
I would really appreciate if someone could help me out...

Kind regards,

Arne.
