Waco, email sent.

I also want to thank others here at the "brotherhood" for their help in creating the file with the tracings, especially peternj who provided me with a lot of if not most of the info I used.

My project is coming along nicely, and am just doing the sanding and internal hardware before covering.

I have three flights on my ultimate with my gas conversion. I installed a valley view rc 20 gas motor after removing a ys 120. I was afraid it might be alittle underpowered but it actually flys quite well. Nowhere as close to power as the ys but actually has pretty good vertical. I flew 3 flights for the same amount of fuel ad one flight with the ys but used $2.40 a gallon fuel instead of $20+ a gallon. I would like to try a different prop to see if I can pull alittle bit more performance out of it. I have my servos in the tail of my ultimate and with the 20cc gas motor I had to locate the battery all the way up front attached to the engine beam to get the right balance. Probably wouldnt hurt for the next size up engine for getting better balance and more power.
How much thrust angle is everyone running on theirs. I am having to add quite a bit of rt rudder to get a straight upline.
thanks
Jeff

i have a 17X6 XOAR on mine, IBEC with a A123 LiFe 6 OZ tank (no ignition Battery) came out lighter and performs as good as my OLD YS 120, have to mention that i hardly use full throttle at all vertical absolutely enough, horizontal i don't need to break the sound barrier or blow my control surfaces of, so its all cool
have a great one with it, no to glow

yes you are. i'm afraid shipping would be prohibitive. Thanks anyway.

I'll wait a while and see if something else pops up. Hopefully someone out there has a set.

If anyone is interested, i have an inbuilt kit that it looks like i will never get around to building. It seems to be all there. Even the Bluehawk decals.
I would sell it for $250 plus shipping.
By the way, i am still looking for a set of decals for one i am recovering and setting up with Dle 20.

Hello, I am new to this forum. I am trying to gauge the value and eventually sell an Ultimate 10-300 kit that I purchased about 20 years ago and only partially assembled. Any insight would be appreciated. If I should not be posting this here, I do apologize and would appreciate any guidance on where I should post it.

I am the original owner, no motor, mold or radio, just the complete kit. Can provide detailed pics if it would help.

ok gang, I know this thread is slow with activity. But I'm looking for help. Doinked my 23yr old ultimate today. Repairs can be done but the cabanes are bent up. Should I make new ones or straighten out the ones I got?

any help will be appreciated.

Not an expert but I would think if the metal doesnt look stressed you could repair it. Usually the metal will have a color change in the stressed areas where it might be stretched. biggest thing I would think would be making sure that the wing incidence is correct after the repair.

thanks for the info jjoos... The metal does not look fatigued so i should be able to use a vice to get it straight. The incidence will be re-checked as both the bottom and top wings will ave to be rebuilt. They could be repaired but it will be just as much effort if not more than cutting all the ribs and building new straight panels. The fuse is fine, suprisingly my re-enforcement for the cabanes for the ultimate build I did and applied to this one held and the metal bent instead, guess if it wasn't re-enforced than it would just broke off inside the fuse. Either way it's time to order some parts from fiberglass specialties and get this bird fixed up. Man I had it for 23 years without incident. And while I'm fixing this one I guess I'll finish off the spare one I framed up a few years back.

that is fantastic you have been flying your ultimate for 23 years. I might have 8 on mine. converted to gas this past winter. I only got about 6 flights in this year and lost my private runway. I have been fortunate enough to have a runway a mile from my house but the farmer sold off the field and I will have to find a club to join. Worst part is the closest one is a 20 min drive. I guess I have been spoiled. Good luck with your rebuild.

Dear Friends,

I would much thank you add me to the CG Ultimate 10-300 Brotherhood as I own and fly a ARTF version since 2006.

I bought it second hand from a clubmate and originaly powered it with an OS 1.20 Four Stroke, which have given outstanding service for years. In 2012 I though it will benefit from a little more power and unsuccesfully tried a JBA 140 which even damagen fuselage top wing strut due to vibrations. At the beginning of this year finally installed and runned in an OS 1.20 Two Stroke which gives both power and reability to the flying.

I enclose a flying photo still with the OS Four Stroke and you may read further details in this other thread devoted to our beloved machine:

Best Regards,

I made new cabanes for my project by getting some 1/16th inch thick 5052 aluminum and they cut them into the correct width for me.

My original Ultimate has been doinked about 5 times over the 20 years or so I've had it... each time I just straightened the metal out and remounted the wing... never had a problem and it always flew as it had before...
