my favorite band to listen too while building is TANGERINE DREAM. they almost always have no vocals and it is easy to concentrate when you have too on complex instructions or involved procedures but their music is almost always upbeat. they are famous for doing a lot of soundtracks too movies, you have probably heard them but never realized who they were.

Gustav Mahler, Anton Buckner, Shostakovich, Beethoven, Mozart, Philip Glass, Steve Reich, Joh Adams, Claudio Montiverdi.

Depends on my mood... Well the music does, the building does not.

Had to pipe up on this one.  I usually listen to/watch war documentaries that I've picked up along the way.  Also being a professional accordionist I'm pretty sure not many of you would want to listen to what I do...........................  It's all good, though.

Keep those fingers out of the prop !!!

Humm, no. Personally, I'm a little more hard core than accordions. :)

x2! see my post at #4. Have you noticed there are more classical music composers whose last name starts with 'B' than any other? Not dissing anyone's likes and dislikes but there is so much to offer in classical music other than the played notes. I'm suprised more folks don't get 'hooked'! I heard a piece entitled 'T Rex' which was awesome! Search and listen everyone- you won't be disappointed!Opera is really cool, too!

Gary,

You and I are about the same. Disturbed, Anvil, Armored Saint, Avenged Sevenfold, Godsmack, Hale storm, Helstar ETC You get the idea.

Then the swing Era, Tommy and Jimmy Dorsey, Billy Holiday, Glenn Miller etc.

I like almost all music Except Rapp and Country.

goirish,
I play polkas all the time.  I do a two piece deal with a guitar player in the Frankenmuth area.  Sorry I haven't been on the board in a few days as it's been a bit busy.  I use a Roland FR 7X V-Accordion and an older Ketron XD-3 arranger.  Tom uses a midi'd Fender Strat with a couple of pedal units.  We both play through the Bose systems.  We do a lot of playing in Frankenmuth at the Bavarian Inn's outdoor venue.  Hotter than the dickens sometimes but always a lot of fun.  We have a pretty good local following and have played most all the festivals here in town.
