Hawker Hurricane model kit

Does anybody know of a Hawker hurricane kit that is in the 65 to 80 inch wingspan range. All help is appreciated.

Not a kit in the traditional sense but Bob Holman should have a laser cut parts package for the Brian Taylor designed 70 inch span Hurricane. The plans and cowl/canopy are available from Traplet in the UK. You won't find a more scale Hurricane anywhere and there are a bunch of great build threads on this bird over at RC ScaleBuilder.

Aerodrome had a very good one about 65 inches several years ago. You will see one now and then of fleabay. You can't find replacement canopies or cowls for them though. I have the last one cut. It was gifted to me by Dick Watz (Aerodrome Models owner) along with a couple of spare cowls and canopies. Looks to be a decent scale model. I've thought about blowing up the plan and building one at about 110 inches.

If you're still looking for a kit and don't mind going up another foot (92") there's a Vaillencourrt kit out in classifieds for sale:

Check out SkyShark RC in Arizona. Took over the Heritage RC line when they folded years ago. They have a 60 size Hawker kit (I have it in storage) that's pretty good. Around $225 from them.

Warjet, you sure you are not thinking of the Hawker Tempest? I don't see a Hawker hurricane at their site. Thank you.

I have plans for a Hawker Hurricane Mk I, wingspan 1,78 meter ( 70"). The drawings are from the UK and a firm called RC Model World. The scale is 6,93/1 (1 3/4" =1" ) , lets say the scale is 1/7 to get more even numbers. The drawings seems OK in general, but there is one flaw, they have omitted the landing retract mechanism. I manage to get a sketch, or rather a perspective drawing, impossible to take any measurements from, of the mechanism used in the real thing and my intension is to build it that way. If it is a scale model then it is a scale model. Does anyone have any experience of this?, I saw earlier in this thread a guy who was building a 1/4 scale of a Hurricane and he had a scaled down retract mechanism of the original one. Does anyone know of him and were to find him?

Best
Tomas
