Look on the Discontinued section of the site. It also shows remaining inventory. The Chipmunk will be sad to see discontinued. May have to get one of each.

The Kadet sales are hopefully good. I just ordered one. Maybe if we all ask Tower to carry the line it would help sales. If newer generation pilots don't know about SigMfg they wouldn't know to go to the site. Many would not be on here either. Ibig retailer like Tower or horizon would increase sales. Neither had the Kadet.

Hi Smashmaster - look at the Sig website http://www.sigmfg.com/ , click on "Display Discontinued Sale" in red on the left hand side of the page. Once there, click on "Aircraft - R/C Kits" and you will see "Sig King Kobra Kit" as one of the choices. As of this morning, they had 11 on hand.

I built and learned to fly on a Sig LT-40 kit. Second plane was an Somethin' Extra that I also built. I now a have a 1/4 Cub in my hangar and a Ryan STA on the shelf to build in the future.

Thanks, i'm hoping for the best. Plane is a little heavy, I don't know the exact weight. It just feels heavy. I've been working on it since april. Lots of time and hours involved. maybe its the extra battery or whatever, but we'll see. I'll keep ya'll informed!

ThunderBoat42 03-02-2014 06:39 PM

Mako, looks good! I really like that bipe. We had 72 deg here in Bham this weekend. Beautiful day.

I have built and flown the Sig Citabria, Skybolt and Kougar. Currently own a sig 1/4 scale cub kit to be powered by an O.S. 160 twin. Sign me up!

Smashmaster 03-03-2014 03:35 AM

Thanks for the reply. Your link takes me to a different page than just googling Sigmfg. Just googling Sig mfg, there was no option for discontinued stuff. Oddly once I go to the link you posted,I keep getting your page after googling. Until I close all windows and start over, then it's back to the old page . If that makes any sense:rolleyes:
Anyway, thanks for the link. I found it.

skyraider71 03-03-2014 09:49 AM

Count me in. My first build was a Four Star 40 and I've been a Sig fan ever since.
My Somethin' Extra was my favorite plane for several years till a gust of cross-wind
did 'er in. I have built and flown several other Sig/Herr kits and enjoyed all of them.
I was much relieved when Sig was purchased saved by it's new owners.

skyraider71 03-03-2014 09:51 AM

I would appreciate being added to the number list, Thank you.

Did you see where the Rascal and Tclips are the chosen planes for the cross country flights in Model Aviation? Fortunately both are passing through my area. Excited to one of my Fav and American company chosen. TClips will be gas.

Please add me. I've been building balsa kits since about 1968 and over the years have built more Sig kits than I can remember. I'm still at it, just today a Four Star 20 EP arrived on my doorstep via UPS. It is currently 2nd in my building queue.

Hey, count me in too. Most of my early building was with Sig Kits starting in the mid 70's. I've still got a few Sig's sitting around the pig sty in various forms of build and/or repair:

Astro Hog - Came from an estate sale, it's been completely rebuilt and is ready for an engine and radio. It few decently, crashed really bad, rebuilt much straighter now and should fly even better. Will be powered with the OS .61SF it used to fly with.
Kadet kit (not the Mk I) - I'll save this one but someday scratch build another. Have an old OS Max .35 (strap on muffler vintage) for it.
Kadet Jr. - Another kit I'll scratch build to save the original.
Kadet Mk II - built sometime in the 80's, HB .40 powered (Perry carb vintage), the original builder "Fuel Proofed" the inside to bring it to about 6-1/2 lbs. It still has all the great Kadet flying characteristics, just flies and lands a lot faster.
Kadet LT-40 ARF ready to be assembled, will have a Magnum .52RFS, and just for kicks I'll try the Eagle Tree 2D/3D stabilizer and see how it handles our 15 - 20 mph winds.
Kadet Sr. kit - ready to be built, have a Magnum .52RFS for it.
Klipper kit.
Kavalier - several years old, OS .40SF, wonderful flying plane, one of the best I've flown for touch-n-go's. Just finished clipping the ailerons 1-1/2 inches to stop the high speed buzz, and converted the elevator/rudder pushrods from wood to fiberglass.
Kougar kit waiting to be built.
J-3 Cub 1/6 scale - wings built, still debating on power before I build the fuselage - either electric or an OS FS-26
J-3 Cub 1/4 scale - Fuse built, set up for an OS Gemini 1.20. I do have concerns on the Gemini pulling the finished weight, so as a backup I have a Saito 1.82 twin that can be used on it.
Bonanza - the kit's all there and not started.
Liberty Sport - This is on the build list after I finish several other projects. It'll be modified for 4 ailerons to help the roll.
29er - Going to convert the old FF kit to 3-ch using the guts from a Night Vapor for indoor flying.
Little Something Extra - I count this as a Sig since Herr is owned and the plane was sold by Sig. 1 NIB, 1 needing to be recovered and popped glue joints fixed. Will switch from an OS .10FP to Magnum .15XLS during the rebuild.
