RV-4 problem

Hey guys,

I remade my ailerons and flaps b/c the first job i did was terrible. They are much better now but they are a bit to wide (the tail end of the ailerons and flaps extend pass the wing tip by about 1/4 of an inch). What do you guys think the best way to fix this is? if any?

I would cut the flaps and ailerons to the correct length then make a triangle piece to fit in the end of the control surface.

RE: RV-4 problem

Are the flaps/ailerons the size shown on the plans or are they wider? If they are wider then cut them down to be the right width. If they are right then you need to build out the wing tip some. If the wing tip is not glued on yet then cut the trailing edge and shove a piece of trailing edge stock in it. Push the wood through the cut you made until the wing tip is wide enough. Then trim and sand everything to blend and glue the wingtip on.

I was thinking about just cutting it down and just shaping it a bit.

heres a pic (note wing halfs are not glued just placed so they dont line up=D)
