twisted wing?
 

I'm building an old GP Super Sportster kit. It's not my first, but despite my best efforts, the wing is slightly twisted. That is, with the leading edge perfectly horizontal, one trailing edge tip is 1/2" higher than the other.

Is there anything I can do at this point, or just tear it apart and re-build?

You have built in washout! the only thing I could suggest is MAYBE you can shrink your covering on the bottom enough to pull the warp out??? (it's a stretch, pun intended!)

I saw where someone on here said you can mix a little ammonia with alcohol and water and spray the wood (strip covering) until saturation. Then bend into shape and hold until dry (2 hrs) and it will keep it's shape. Something to think about!

I had the same thing happen with one wing panel on a Goldberg Ultimate. Despite my best efforts in twisting and heating the covering I still had a very noticeable twist in one panel. I said the heck with it I'll try it first before I build a new wing. The plane lasted me 10 years that way, was the best flying plane I ever had and I have IMAC trophies on my wall to prove how well it flew. Go figure !!!!

assuming no covering. try applying windex spray, liberly soak the complete area, prop up the rest of the wing so that the tip is approx 3/8" lower, weight down. set it aside and hope for the best. if it doesn't start cutting out the bad area and scab in new structure. dick

Yup, been there! I had to take a shower with one of my wings once in order to get it wet. Blocked it up with an incidence meter and then used a heat gun to start the drying process. Evenually it straightend out.

Seems like most twists appear right after planking the wing le. Concentrate the saturation on just the planking, using a soaking wet sponge. Over twist it in the opposite direction, ease up as it dries. You'll get it fixed.

And yep, we've all been there.
