Tiger 60 wing covering question
 

Well into the final sand on my wind and check all the covering videos , all the articles and here is my question.

on the landing gear blocks on the wind, how do you cover them completely, I understand you take the square cut out
where the wire fits in and you cover that in advance, but from there i cant figure out how you keep that completely sealed
after you cover the wing, you have to put the landing gear wires in the slots and screw them down. I hope this makes sense,
as it is giving me [:@] and yet as always it has to be a simple answer!!!! any help will be appreciated.

I fuel proof the landing blocks first with thinned epoxy before I cover the wing. Then after covering I use a soldering iron to open the groove so the landing gear wire will set flush. The soldering iron seals the covering to the block. The wire from the landing gear covers the slot and everythings fuel proof. From the bottom it looks as if everything is covered. No gaps.

I have also used this method with success, provided you sand the fuelproofed area a little. It helps stick the covering down tight in the areas that are not pinched by the landing gear wire.

On mine I never bothered at all. I just covered over the slots. Went back over and cut slits. Shoved the gear in and put the straps on. Left the strips of covering under the gear. I have had no problem with them. You could do the epoxie thing or soak it with thin ca to fuel proof it. But the gear are far enough out that fuel residue does not get in there on mine. I have a ST 45 in it. I did tilt the muffler to clear most of the plane though. I get very little residue on it. Do as you feel safest doing. And good luck with it.

I do like Phread too. Cover, cut a slit, shove the wire in and screw it down.
