Nose or tail heavy??

Still building on my 4*60...

Question..... If built as instructed, with a MDS 65, standard radio gear, will it come out nose or tail heavy???

Thanks!!

RE: Nose or tail heavy??

neither.. it depends where you mount the servo plate
RX , battery pack ,tail wheel set up and what size tank.

Just my $.02...build to plans. You should be able to manage the CG with placement of the battery pack & the receiver. Your engine is about the same weight as an OS61FX which the plane is designed for.

Its not difficult to check your balance as you build. Once the basic structure is built, set it on the balancer and start placing equipment until it balanced where you want it. 1200ma nicad battery packs are good for fine tuning the CG.

You can also glue hardwood rails to the sides of the fuse, so you can slide the servos fore and aft. Once you find a good spot for them, either glue or screw the servo board to the rails.

RE: Nose or tail heavy??

i mounted the plate in the middle to allow placement for the
battery pack in aft or front of the plate.
i ended up placing the battery pack in the fuel tank area.lol
but was able to move the pack back as i got more comfortable
with the plane.
