I got the plans and made my own kit this time. They don't make the 1st edition anymore, and the Phaeton II is a different plane & a bigger size. Ihave everythingfor it, I just need tobuild it.

You did a beautiful job making your new kit.

I have an unbuilt kit of the Phaeton (40 size) that I bought off an auction site some time back. Now, with the surprisingly excellent results obtained with my recent cataract surgeries, I'll be able to enjoy building again.

Folks, if your vision is bad due to cataracts and you can afford to have the surgical procedures performed, by all means do so. The last decade of life had been miserable for me due to bad vision. My optometrist said that I was very close to losing my driver's license due to poor vision caused by cataracts. Television had lost its visual appeal, building was no longer enjoyable, reading books was out of the question and using my computer was nearly impossible. The affect upon my general mood was awful. Talk about being depressed. Then I turned 65 and qualified for Medicare plus supplemental policies. The cataract procedure for both eyes was completely paid for by Medicare and our supplemental policies. Don't wait another day. And don't be afraid of the surgery, regardless of what you may have heard. It is a snap and was pain free for me. I have my hobby back, yea!!!

Ed, glad your eye surgery brought you back, congratulations! I've heard that's the one thing to look forward to in old age (having cataract surgery) and better eye sight. It makes up some for the rest of our bodies going downhill!
