Absolutly!,
A header tank gives you constant fuel pressure, prevents a lot of fuel foaming from leaning your engine out and better visual warning when your low on fuel.
I say go with it

if your going to do any 3D or maneuvers that cause fuel slosh - DEFINATELY. If your going to do scale flying, or simple positive G maneuvers only, they are not necessary.
If you see fuel frothing/foaming and dont want to find the out of balance cause, add a header tank or you could lean out and damage the engine.
All my choppers have header tanks, except the eco-8, and i believe the $5 investment is well worth it. Doing tic tocs is a typical maneuver where the header tank will be needed if your main fuel tank is getting low.

Here's a pic of the header tank on my Caliber. I forget what mount it is but this is the general location I've seen others mounted as well. You can't see it but I used a spare blade grip spacer to push the tank away from the frame and fuel tank. I also had to drill a hole in the frame and use a bolt and locknut as I could not get the scew to tighten up using the holes provided for the bearing blocks???
This location seems to work fine and allows me to mount the canopy without cutting it up.

Sure you can, I use a standard DuBro 2 oz. tank without any problems. I mounted it to the main tank with double sided tape and secured it with tie-raps.
There is nothing special about the specially designed tanks except for maybe a special mounting bracket and mainly the price!
heres a picture:
