Caliber 30 "jumps" and changes RPM
HI,
I OWN A CALBER 30, BUT FOR A WHILE IT'S DOING SOMETHING STRANGE.
WHEN IT'S RUNNING WELL LET'S SAY AT SOME 1700-1800 RPM'S (I'VE MEASURED) AND THAT'S EXACTLY WHEN I CAN FLY IT AROUND BETTER BECAUSE IT'S MORE STRONG AGAINST THE WIND, IT "JUMPS" WHEN I'M HOVERING, SOMETIMES THIS "JUMPS" ARE VERY NOTICEABLY. I REALLY CAN'T TELL IF IT'S ACTUALLY JUMPING OR IT'S LIKE FOR A FRACTION OF A SECOND IT LOOSES PITCH.
ON THE OTHER HAND, MANY TIMES WHEN I'M STARTING TO FLY, IT'S RUNNING AT LOWER RPMS (900-1100) EVEN AT THE SAME STICK POSITION THAT IT DOES 1700 RPM LATER ON ON THAT SAME FLIGHT.
THANKS FOR ANY COMMENTS ABOUT THIS!

RE: Caliber 30 "jumps" and changes RPM
hey!... thenks you may be right
i changed the clutch bell for a metal one, instlles the clutch liner, but it was VERY tight, so I had to take off much of the liner maerial in order to fit in the clutch, finally i had to trim also alittle material of the clutch shoe in order to make it fit.
When would be best, to trim off the shoe or the lining, I understand that now the importance of the lining.
Thanks a lot!

how is the throttle curve set. if the throttle curve is bumpy it do just what you are talking about. or the engine is tuned bad.set the the throttle curve as leanar as you can for the flying you want. check your pitch settings also.
