Hello guys. Another noObydoO at the forum.
I just bought a caliber 30 copter, but i was wondering, does anybody know about a shop that sells different types of canopys for
caliber 30. I thinking of, apache, airwolf, rescue etc. canopys?...
Links, and pics please.
Best regards, rdl.

RE: CALIBER 30 CANOPY HELP.
Sorry, but there are no scale fuselages that will fit the caliber without some major surgery. It has a very high front section where the three servos mount. At the moment there is only one other fuselage that will fit the Caliber. It's called the FT.
Have a look at this link.............

RE: CALIBER 30 CANOPY HELP.
The only fuse that can be adapted is the TwinStar (Squirrel) But you have to butcher the frame to make it fit.
This pics you have are probably scratch built or might be one of the Hirobo scale kits. They will only fir 60 size mechanics though.
Have a look at Century Helicopters site. It will tell you all the fuselages and compatibility options.
If you need a scale heli you should have got a Raptor or Hawk. If you want a good flying heli...... You got the right one!

RE: CALIBER 30 CANOPY HELP.
Just got mail from the guys at the century.
He said the it IS possible to modify the fuselage. Its made of fiberglass and its easy to cut in. so most posibly om going for a airwolf caliber=
But so far, this is what ive done to my caliber 30. Just need to decal the window.

RE: CALIBER 30 CANOPY HELP.
If you go on www.caliber30.com there is some info about some guy modding a twinstar, I see no reason for an airwolf canopy not to fit, It has a very large nose. I don't think you will find an apache, they are very rare and there is no possible way for it to fit , the servo tray is way too thick and the apaches nose is long and thin
If I was you I would buy a .30 airwolf painted kit from century, it goes for about $389.
But, before you get one maybe send them an email asking for dimensions.
Hope this helps
Ross

RE: CALIBER 30 CANOPY HELP.
It's not about modifing the fuselage. The Caliber is the wrong shape.......Airwolf/Bell 222 Won't fit. one of the guys from my club bought a 222 for his Caliber. The forward servo frame was about 2 inches too high. It would stick up through the windscreen.
The only fuselage that will POSSIBLY go on is the TwinStar. But even then you have to butcher the caliber mainframe.
I'm trying to save you money here. If you want a scale heli, get a second hand Nexus.

RE: CALIBER 30 CANOPY HELP.
hey ian. i know what you meen but buying anothe helicopter just for the fuselage.... NEVER
its not THAT important. but it would be fun having an airwolf flying around the buildings here and not some alien looki'n thing.
as iv'e said before.... NOTHING is impossible if you can mod. your wife with a rounder ass and bigger **** there is GOT to be some way to mod the fuselage hehe..
ROSS: if im going for it i will go for the cheapest one. so i can paint it after the mods.
im probably going to crash it the first time anyway ha ha.

RE: CALIBER 30 CANOPY HELP.
Yeah, it's not the best looking canopy out there is it That's why I went for the FT canopy. It's glass, not plastic so you can paint it properly.
FT
It's also possible that the new Caliber5 canopy will fit too.

RE: CALIBER 30 CANOPY HELP.
guys,
The air wolf and the bell 222 (30 size) from century will fit the caliber 30 with minor butchering...... I have installed not long ago caliber 30's in each fuselage, the most important thing to do is: remove the servo plate and install the servos under the plate (use small spacers in order to lower them more) instead of the original setting, this will give enough clearance so the links will not touch the inner part of the fuselage, the other thing to do is to cut the small supports for the gyro, and thats it!!!
regards
David
