Default kyosho caliber 30 help

hey guys.. i just bought a used kyosho caliber 30 heli.. i started it works fine. but the rear blade dident spin so i looked to see if i could find the problem and the belt was loose so i tried losening it up and ajusted it. ok so it all looked good but when i tried to start it again with the starter, the motor wont turn anymore and i really dont want to damage it.. any ideas on what it can be.. i called a hobby shop but they cant fix it for another 2 weeks and i really want to fly it..

Hmmm. Could simply be flooded.Take plug out, turn over again with starter then replace plug.Does the starter strain? If its turning but your motor isnt it could have spat out the capscrews holding the fan on.Engine shaft might have unwound and now jammed the fan against the shroud if its locked solid. Check the tailbelt pulleys are tight and grubscrewed on to make sure you have drive to the tail...........Have fun.

It does sound like it's flooded. As Helityro says take the plug out and tip it forward (also helps to turn it over a few times to blow any excess fuel out)

Or you may have over tightend the tail belt. It should compress about half its width before it enters the tail (squeeze it with your fingers or a pair of long nosed pliers)

As for the tail, turn the tail blades by hand. Does the belt turn at the engine end? If not something is loose at the tail end. Just be methodical and track it down. You shouldn't be flying one of these if you can't fix simple and obvious things. Not flaming you, but every second hand heli I've had has had a FULL nuts and bolts strip and re-build, Just to make sure it's air worthy. All helis require a LOT more maitenance than fixed wing models and need a LOT more respect

Did you get the manual with the heli? It has a detailed strip and re-build section telling how to repair the rotor head or tail rotor. It can be downloaded from Kyosho directly if you dont.

Let us know how you get on and we'll try and help.

Check the fan, the chances are you tried to start a flooded engine and the fan spun off.
