Kyosho Caliber 30
Hi to everyone!
I have Caliber 30 and I'm looking people who has the same chopper. If there is any change that these people could tell settings (Pitch curve, Throttle curve, which gyro, etc) to me. And experiences of that chopper. And if there is pictures, send the link.
Thanks!

Arthur Dent,
I have the Calber 30. It's fine as stock kit, and indeed that is seen to be one of it's advantages. A word of warning when setting up. The instructions recommend that the head linkages are reversed for something called training mode for beginners. It certainly softens the controls, but it alters geometry. Advice that I have is leave as set up by the manufacturer, and adjust the servo throws or add a fair bit of exponential to compensate for the inital nerves.
Some positive things that come to mind..
Quiet, well I've learned that it's very quiet compared to others and as a result is less daunting psychologcally.
Stable yet responsive.
Doesn't need upgrades.
Pretty robust.... I haven't had to perform a repair yet.
.... but if you're starting out the best advice I can give, is get a colleague to trim it out, balance the blades and set up the radio. If you're learning the most dispiriting thing you can do is fight an unstable heli. A club coleague set mine up and it will hover hands off for a few seconds... something I didn't do when I started out with another heli.
Sincerely, Ford Prefect.

Oh, I forgot, the downside.... the canopy. hmmmmmmm, not many care for it. It looks as though third party suppliers (especially here in the UK) have seen an avneue and alternatives may be available soon. I've just ordered a Century Schweizer 300 conversion kit forir Hawk, and hope to get it to fit on the Caliber without too much hassle. The dimensions seem about right.

Thanks for telling that reversing the linkage. I did it but, I haven't test it. Now I have to chance it back. So then I have to but little bit expo?? I have one problem. I have English/Japanese and Swedish manual (living in Finland) and both manuals are giving different settings. That's why I'm asking you these setting.
But thanks your reply. More info will be taken.

If you want to see pics look in my gallery. There are several pics of easily made mods that help stiffen the frame and servo frame that help to make the caliber even better. The head flip mod helps reduce the tendency to wobble.
