Default Tempetature on a OS50 hyper

Hello.

Anyone with a OS50 engine who can tell me the operational temperature measured on the glowplug.

Look for around 180-200F (in flight if possible). Although you can check the temp if you can land quickly enough.

No. I have a Venom that has a sensor bolted to the head. But if using an infra-red or laser heat gun, the plug is the best place to get an acurate reading from.

OK. I got a infrared gun to measure. Got 170 F on the plug after a medium flight... had to land first though.

170 or so is safe. By the time you land and spool down it usually drops 15 to 20 degrees from peak.

If you can reach under there and put your finger on the backplate for a few seconds without feeling like you are getting burned, it's about right. It will be very warm, but not too hot to touch. My temp gauge tells me 160 or so. --Tony
