Kyosho Nexus SS Pitch Slider Ring

    Hi All,

I recently acquired a new old kyosho Nexus SS. it has never been flown.
I set up and gave it a try. it flown ok although the gyro could do a bit better.

however, after some flights, i realized that the main rotor blade is full of friction. a closer look showed that the problem could be from the slider ring. I took it apart and the metal ring seems to be stuck with the plastic inner rod/ring. i read on some website and they suggest replace with a ball raced pitch slider.
i am looking at the part list.can anyone tell mi please which one should i get for a more durable pitch slider ring? is it H3018 or H3122? i suspect it is H3122, am i right? if so, do i need to buy separate ball bearing for it? and which part no. should i get?

it will be really nice if anyone can direct me to where can i get the ball raced ring. really need to get the bird into air again!.

    Cheers

RE: Kyosho Nexus SS Pitch Slider Ring

#H-3122 is listed in the optional/upgrade parts list page, so you are right! The #H-3018 is the standard Pitch Slider Set.

Sorry, I don't know where to get the 3122 at this time, but keep searching and one should turn up. Ebay, for example, is where hard to find items appear every now and then.

I too was not happy about the pitch assembly's movement. Something to try is to "work" the parts with thin oil (Marvel Mystery Oil as an example) and very fine emery cloth or sand paper. The Pitch Rod Guide (#H-3323) was very snug on the mainshaft also. After working all the parts for a while, the entire pitch assembly finally moved "fluidly" on the bench. Also, roll the mainshaft on a pane of glass to check for true-ness.Good Luck!

    Hi SafeTWire,

Thanks for the info and suggestion. Yes, you are right, I have got one 3122 off the ebay and purchased the ball bearing set separately. the thing is, i need to sand down quite a lot for the inner surface of the mounded plastic bearing housing before i can fit in the metal bearings.

i have test flown it and it seems doing the job very well. But i wont neglect it and will do regular greasing/oiling after each flight.

thanks for your help and happy flying!

    cheers

Lawrence, Over a period of time, the metal-to-plastic fit parts "lapp" in together, therefore...do not go too extreme with the sanding/fitting at first or the fit may become loose or sloppy in short time.

Glad to hear you found the parts you were seeking for your Nexus!
