Concept/Nexus 30 CoG & balancing

Folks,

I have a question that I am hoping ya'll can help with. I have both a Nexus .30 and a Concept .30 that were purchased recently. We tore them down and rebuilt them (mostly) balanced the blades & paddles. We set the CoG(Center of Gravity) on the blades. Now, I was about to adjust the CoG & balance on the helicopters themselves so they would balance on the point under the mast. The kids said that they did not see that in the manuals and neither did I. I did that step for my Kalts and similar really old Helis. Is this not needed anymore? I have done this Balancing on all my RCMs from Helis, Boats, Planes, Gliders, and Subs.

Depends on whether or not you want be fighting trim or not. If no, then balance them at the mast.

Thank you, I was unsure if this series heli was basically designed closely balanced or if it was still standard practice to just balance it. Now to show the kids how to make a safe balance plate and how to balance.

The stock C30 will generally balance a bit tail low, and can easily be fixed with a larger battery pack. I run a 1300 Nicd 4-cell in mine, and it's great. Have fun!</p>
