caliber30 tip
i have a caliber 30 and about a week ago the two screws came out that hold the cooling fan on came out just as i was about to take off destroying the cooling fan. when i got a new fan i put a M3x20 screw straight through the existing hole without any problems with an M3 lock nut(locktighted on for extra safety!) to hold it on. it does a much better job of holding the fan on and no excess vibration has been found/noticed. (oh BTW the two screws were well threadlocked in when this happened and i am not the first person for this to happen to )

mmm,
indeed, very good tip. Thanks |

I had the same problem, replaced them and then sheared off completely. I did the same thing putting a bolt completely through the shaft with a nylon locking nut

another tip, i have a shuttle 30 stainless steel flybar on mine. there was always some corrosion on the leading edge of the standard metal one. the shuttle stainless steel flybar is only marginally shorter in length, and does not effect the flight performance (certainly not noticeble)

I strictly suggest you buy a cut washer and place it on all the vibrating parts. I guarantee that the parts will not come loose. They will stay on for about 5 times longer than the regular washers or screws
