Thanks KLRico: it didn't turn out quiet like I intended.....do they ever? I couldn't get the colors I needed.....I like the neon green/yellow look (highly visible) with purple trim but those colors are hard to find. Also the aluminum frame is blue....that didn't help much either. The paint is Ace I believe.....with a clear coat engine enamel (the colors were flat except for the purple). It holds up to fuel pretty good. I think I'll try the Fusion paint by Krylon next time.....it is supposed to be made for plastic. If all goes well I should have a couple more pics in this post.

I think fusion would probably be a good paint for the plastics.

I've got a Darth's MD-500 body that I haven't even put together. I'm goin to wait until I get a reliable Vmax-7 before I risk damaging the body. With any luck, I'll have an AH-6 with bottle rocket launchers when it's all said and done. [8D]

BOTTLE ROCKET LAUNCHERS!!!!!!! That's too cool!!!!!! War games......or better yet have some friends over to watch you fly and.......no I better not go there. Get it put together and get us some pictures!

It's going to be really easy to do. All that's needed is some model rocket igniters in place of the fuses, and some kind of switch like this --->

Ya can build it yourself if you want, or you can buy premade ones from other places.... Flipping the switch on the radio activates the igniter and the rockets fire.

I don't have the time/money right now to finish it. Hopefully I can do it all pretty soon.

Some more pictures that the kids took today while I flew.....they're not that good but maybe they'll get some better ones later. I imagine a moving target is hard to capture with a camera.....one of my photographers is 5 years old.

Can you tell me about the u/c you're using please? What's it from and is it easy to fit . . . . sure looks a lot better than the stock LMH u/c

Hi Tony, the landing gear are for a Voyager E heli. There's usually nothing to do but strap them on. They add a little weight (stability) and they are wider than the LMH stock landing gear.....so good looking landings are easier. Helihobby sells them under LMH upgrades....but you may get them cheaper by ordering for a Voyager.....if you can find the part #s.......they are not very expensive anyway.

Here's another variation with the Voyager undercarriage ( and battery clips removed) - body is Dartdrk which with some modification makes up into really nice scale.

While I had the fuselage off to clear coat it I was flying her "bare" and lost a main blade!!! Major damage to boom and main shaft but at least many weeks of work on the fuselage were saved - She's back flying but I "pucker" each time it lifts off now

Thanks - the u/c is a good mod T.W. - look closely at the static pix and you can see some tiny metal plates glued under each strut - I land a lot on concrete and wore really fast through the sleeve in the struts that the skids slip into - the metal plates stopped this - It's something to keep in mind if you add that mod - some people slip fuel line on the skids instead - I found the Voyager plastic a lot less tough than LMH.

Hey I have an estes rocket firing 117 that works great. Unfortunately I dont have any good pics right now, but I'll get some up in a couple days. I did have some junky webcam pics in another forum, they are just too bad to post again.

Am I to presume this is a 120 electric? I dont see the head sticking out to be a nitro... (if it IS a nitro, I want of those bodies!!! Thats sweeeeeeeet looking!)
Trouble is - I cant paint.. I have negative artistic talent on the painting scale.. haveta find somebody to do a nice point job if I get a nice body for mine...

That PHI fuselage is on a Corona 120 electric. It might just fit the nitro version with a little work.
But believe me, the basic fuse did not look anything like that final version - a lot of extra detailing was required.
But give it a try on yours - it's fun!
