Default Test flight

Today I suited up the LMH110 in its new skin, The ranger 206. This is the fiberglass prototype. The weather was perfect, sunny, bright, no wind and about 50 degrees. With all things well, I started The Heli up and off it went. Well what else can I say, its a success! The fiberglass fuse is probably heavier than the proposed Styrene fuse so, I dont see weight being a factor.
Also just a minor money saving tip, If you are still doing alot of crashing and learning, when the new suits are ready, I would wait until youve become comfortable with your flying abilities as to not tear up the new skins. Ive been in contact with the producer (trying to put some fire under him). He is in the process of mounting the molds. So far the waiting list continues to grow thanks for all the responces (email). At the rate things are going were going to be producing alot of them. Those on the list will be first contacted. Oh yes and other designs are on the drawing board such as the Long Ranger, 222, Agusta, Ecureuil, Huey and possibly others. Well thats it for now. Just keepin everyone posted.

I havent even flown mine yet just got it yesterday , so I need some practice before I go for looks ,,, but I was thinkin maybe you should get a couple of the finished goods get em painted up purty like and send them to LMH.....hey this is America man .. could be a good thing......course you may want to copyright/patent first (I think you can show intent by stating "patent pending")....cause you can make a million in America, but you can get screwed in a New York minute too....I like the hughes, how about a Bell old style like on M.A.S.H. or the Schweitser(?) like the hawk........anyway good job Darth..Rog

Default Patent opinion

The patent pending, patent applied or patented. In the hobby business such as R/C and many others A patent is a waste of money unless you have an idea or product that just cant be changed in any way to make it operational. Ive spent time with a patent attorney (on other endeavors) studied some patent law and find in most case that a patent is useless. For instance, You bought a LiteMachines Helicopter, you designed a new crutch off the crutch that LM produced, you change the shape, reposition the servos, what ever . Technically you have a different crutch but serves the same purpose(carry your rc gear). So, you go out and sell a million of them. The question is does LM has recourse? The answer is "no" because its no longer their design. Now, if you make an exact copy and you go out and sell them does LM has recourse? The answer is "Yes" if its a patented item, you better have deep pockets. Alot of times the word patent, or patent pending, or patent applied are just there to ward off would be copy cats. In manufacturing you have to have a good product, and a good price. Not saying at times a patent isnt a good thing
but in this situation it wouldnt be worth it. Another Example: The Razor knife, theres hundreds of designs. Stanley has a patent on theres, Sears has a patent on theres etc.... Once the Chinese get a hold of it ....Well, you can buy a razor knife under a buck. Pretty much the same shape they just change something simple like the retractor or blade holder and Tadaaaaaa!!!!
Also if you do come up with a design and someone does copy it and try to make it their own The attorney said if you can keep good documentation you still have some recourse so all is not lost. Either way it goes Patent or no patent you still have to have money for a court battle.

Default LMH fuselages update

I got some parts today off my molds from the producer today. I got the 206 fuse, tailboom, and upper cowl. Also got upper cowl parts of the hughes 500. These are basically evaluation parts. They look pretty good. everthing fits ok. The material he used is a bit to heavy, so we have to adjust the material thickness(not a problem). Well, we're rolling. Its a slow process but when I get to the point I like the final evaluation pieces we're in production. Im attaching some pics, My "skunk work" photos . In background of some photos you can see Im working on an AS350 Ecuriel.

Default LMH Fuselage (bell 206&hughes500)

Update: Im about midway finished with a mold that would produce a UH-1 Huey, and is contemplating I couple more designs by summer. Mabey the 222, AS350, and the A109. Dont think this is a cheap endeavor. Im doing this because I like the LMH and would like to see more skins for it. I started doing these fuses for my own pleasure but many expressed the desire for one for themselves.

Hi,
I'm interested in the Huey. Let me know when it will be available. About the "bulge" we can see along the middle of the fuselage, is it possible to trim that join?

Thanks......Sylvain

Depends on how good your modeling skills are. Actually its not a bulge. A bulge would be considered a flaw. Its actually a seam line where the Fuselage halves are joined together. That can be taken down to near nothing.

Default Kiowa warrior/aeroscout

Pic of my Litemachines suited up as the Kiowa Aeroscout/warrior. I do plan to put the mast mounted sight on and also a grenade
launcher on one side and stinger missile rack on the other.

Just wondering what modifications, if any, need to be done to the a Corona crutch in order fit one of your bodies?
