Default LMH Fuselage (bell 206&hughes500)

 Hey I had an idea of making my own fuselage for the LMH
helicopter. Ive seen what some German guys were doing and they have some really nice fuses out there. Well, Ive so far have a male and female mold for a Hughes 500 that will fit the 110 heli. Probably next week I will be laying up a fiberglass fuse and Ive talked to someone to do the vac forming with my male mold. Ill probably start building a mold to make a bell 206 fuse. Is there anyone else out there creating fuses for the LMH? When the prototypes are done, I plan to post some pics.

What model Hughes 500 are you doing?
You are right the Germans are turning out some nice LMH scale fuselages.
The Kyosho Hughes 500E and Bell JetRanger from the Ep Concept adapt easily to a Corona also.

Default LMH Fuselage (bell 206&hughes500)

Hughes 500 fuselage update: The mold is finished and the first fuselage is already off the mold. It is in the trim and fit stage now . I think they are really . Ive also took a fuselage off another mold today, it is that of an OH-58 kiowa warrior . Well it can be either a jet ranger(206) or Kiowa warrior depenging on what upper cowling is used . These are still in the prototype stage, they will be trimmed and fitted within the next week. Pictures will be available soon. Well this was bound to happen because I got well, impatient waiting on litemachines to produce a fuse and Its been years. Ok later for now.

Looks good. What are the weights for the two fuselages? When will you be taking orders?

Default Fuse progress

Well, Im Still fitting parts. Figure Id post another pic This is the 206/OH-58D. This is really a process but things are going pretty good. So far I have three prototype bodies still working out the fit. Sorry that the pic isnt clearer, I got one of those sorry cheap digital cameras, working on getting one thats much better. Any comments will be appreciated. Thanks. Oh yes the weights so far arent that much more than the stock canopy, just slightly heavier.

Default LMH Fuselage (bell 206&hughes500)

Progress report. Today I attached the upper cowling to the 206 and fitted the tailboom. Will be working on horizontal Stab and vertical fin tomorrow. Notice this is going to be the army version which is the Kiowa warrior (note upper cowling)and the plan is to put the mast mounted sight over the rotor blades . Of course it wont have a camera in it or be operational, but for looks(going to be interesting). Heh Heh , what can I say I use to be a kiowa Mechanic when I was in the army. Oh yes, Its still lighter than the LMH with stock canopy and training gear So, its going to fly.

Default LMH Fuselage (bell 206&hughes500)

Ok Im at a crossroad, whether to persue putting these fuses in production. I have the molds, I have the contacts to vac form these. I need some feed back on whether this is something the LMH community would be interested in. If there is no intrest, I wont do it, This is not a inexpensive endeavor . The protos I have are Fiberglass. Final product I would like to vac form(pvc or Lexan). wanting to keep the price down. Seeking imput from the LMH flyers. Thanks.

I would estimate the price being around $40.00 per Fuse(vac pvc)
If I do a fiberglass layup, $50.00. Im open for feed back on this too

Ok Heli 206 is completed these will be the last pics for a while. Its only missing the tail stinger which will protect the T/R from ground strikes, put that on tomorrow. Well, any questions/comments?
Test flight real soon.

You can count me in on a 500 canopy. I wil take one now from fiberglass if you want to make it. I would suggest that you get on the Ezone as the number of LMH flyers is greater.

The fuselages come off pretty much like the Standard LMH canopy. The bottom is open on mine somewhat like the canopy (Depends on how its trimmed. If I produce them it will be up to the individual to customized to their preference. To get the tailboom cover on, you have to remove the T/R gearbox assembly. It slides over the tailboom(pretty simple)The fuse goes on just like the standard canopy and in the rear under the tailboom I have a plastic cable tie holding the rear fuse halfs together. Just a note, This is on a gasser(Vmax6 engine). Im not 100% how it will fit on the electrics. It may fit better. If someone is willing to send me an outline of the electric crutch I can have an answer(email me) The only thing I dont like about the fuse on my gasser is having to make the cut out for my Engine. The electric guys will not have to do this so theirs will look better. Thanks for the feedback

Default LMH Fuselage (bell 206&hughes500)

Ok today I meet with the person(company) who will vac form these Fuselages for me. I will give more feed back from our meeting. Pretty sure the finish product would look nice and go together really quick. The prototypes are fiberglass laid and took some work to get satisfactory to me. If I do them by hand, that takes alot of time. Ill post more later on today. Until then, Later.
