Electric Motor Choice
Dear Readers
Just wanted to know if anyone out there is using a a hotter motor than the Kyosho Atomic force. I purchased a 17 double motor ( not Atomic force), but I dont get enogh power form it , I had to use a 13 tooth pinion to get it off the ground, but i eventually blew the motor ( got too hot) I did this following everyones thoughts on how good the Atomic force was. I cant get those motors here so i just purchased a trinity 17 double.
I just want to know, what the heck is the difference?? I'm currently using a 13 double motor with a 9 tooth pinion and get wonderful performance from this. I am also using a Nosram 180 amp speedo, and it just stays as cool as ice. Motor does not even heat up. I get about six minutes of flight time on a 2400 pack, and motor is just warm to the touch.
I prefer using a hot motor, ( like the 13 double), powerful speed control ( like the nosram) and a low pinion. Need just a little throttle to get off the ground, about three quarter throttle for fast forward flight. Better to use a hot setup, than use a motor like a 17 double. That motor will have to push its max to keep the heli flying and thats when things start to burn.
This is just my personal opinion.
Regards
Sachin
