Aftershock vs. XXL
Considering purchase of a limited edition Aftershock RTR and I was wondering how much worse it was from the expensive LST XXL?
There's a $270 difference. Is it really worth it for a newby not intending to track race?
I know the shocks are in a different position and the servos are better.
I'm basically looking for reliability at this stage.
Thanks for any responses expo

RE: Aftershock vs. XXL
shocks are in the same position, xxl has better arms, carriers and spindles with bigger bearings, better radio with telemetry, better 2speed assembly, better axles, i think the aftershock comes with the 170cc fuel tank and the xxl comes with a 220cc tank, and last but not least, a better engine.
i had a aftershock and i converted it to lst2 spec, much less problems since...

IMHO, get the XXL. It's worth it...
The Aftershock has weaker arms, weaker hubs, weaker axles, a weaker 2-speed(uses bushings where the LST2/XXL use bearings), etc etc etc... Then yeah, the radio and engine..
If you're REALLY on a tight budget , get the AS.. But after six months you will have spent MORE than the difference repairing and upgrading to XXL-type specs...
That said, the AS is sure to be decent... The XXL is just a lot better...

RE: Aftershock vs. XXL
After some digging and research on what I wanted, I discovered a bunch of discounts and rebates @ Tower H. so i bought an HPI Savage XL 5.9 for $470 shipped. It included a 2.4 gig radio. I thought it was a good deal but time will tell if I'm happy with the decision.
