Default XXL transmission on LST2?

Hello All

I'm getting back into the hobby and decided to fix my LST2(needs new transmission)
All I can find on ebay is the XXL transmission. Will the XXL transmission fit into the LST2? Do I need to buy other parts to accommodate the different transmission? Is it a drop-in swap???
I know the transmissions are different, I don't mind at all...I just want to get the truck up and running again.

thx
Cheers

Direct drop-in. I have XXL transmissions in both my LST2's.. The gearing is better than the older one - that's why I did it.. So yeah, get it and just drop it in..

The XXL gears give better top speed than stock lst2 gears, and the LST BL conversion gears are faster yet. BUT why not just fix the lst2 transmission?

I just got whole new XXL trannies cuz it was easy and cheap and low-hassle.. I could've spent €12 on the gears or whatever, but I got a whole tranny for 30 bucks in both cases..

This with the E-C kit gears being even higher though sounds intriguing... Espeically once I get the LRP 30 in there.. I know MT's aren't really meant for it, but I loooove top-speed runs with my LST2's...

I read about it on LSTForums and I checked part numbers on the Losi site. I forget the tooth counts but the aftershock and lst2 use the same gears, with the XXL being 1 or 2 teeth higher and the BL gears higher yet. I believe Losi does sell those gears separately. When I get the SH .28 ported, I'm going to put the BL gears in it and try for 50mph. I've gotten 46 with my ported 427 truck so I doubt it will be all that tough. A .30 should get her cookin' real nicely. I love my LST2's. I have too much snow for them so I'll have to settle for running the airboat instead.
