Default Lst xxl picco .27

Hi guys I am new to forum , I just got a like new LST XXL. It has an LRP Z28R in it with only a gallon 1/2 through it and a brand new losi 454 engine still in packaging. I was searching the net and found a PICCO .27 PULL START engine with the green head on it. Its brand new for $289.00 CAD has anyone used this engine and is it powerful ( wheelies on demand but good top speed) I've owned the first tmaxx .15 back in 2001 and since I've had a savage .21 , hpi nitro rush , a savage .25 , the savage x F4.1 , savage x as K4.6 , savage x F4.6 3 different ones. All were stock engines except I put an LRP.28 in one savage and the x as I put in an O.S. 30VG , JP3 TUNED PIPE AND MANIFOLD , INTEGY PIGGY BACK SHOCKS ETC. LOL anyway is the picco .27 a powerful all around good engine

I don't really know too much on the picco .27. by the looks of videos, seems like it was a powerful engine back in the days, but roughly $210 US is bit much for it. Also, it's discontinued and hard to find parts for. You could get a NOvarossi Rex Legend 28-8 for much less than that, around $175 US on NovarossiDirect. Also the new PIcco Boost .28 is pretty powerful for about $250 US

Those older Picco engines are superb engines. I wouldn't pay $289 for the .27 though - maybe $175 tops. I got a NOS Picco P3 .28 for $185 out the door from my LHS and its stellar. The only real differences between the old Piccos and the new ones is cosmetic stuff on the outside and they have not made them quite so tight. The old ones take about 2 gallons to break in whereas the new ones are pretty much ready to drop the nuts at a gallon, maybe gallon and a half tops.

After running these Italian engines, I'll never consider an SH/LRP/Mach/Dynamite engine again.

I love my Novarossi Legend 28-8 engine in one of my LST2s, but Picco makes a brilliant engine too. Here's a video of my other LST2 with a Picco P3 .28 I modified myself. It's absolutely stellar!
