Default lst reciever packs

forgive me.. I'm an RC newb.

after my AA batteries died during the 3rd tank I figured I'd make a run to the lhs (an hour drive!) to get a rechargable cell pack, I didn't find any that would connect to the lst harness. The owner wasn't much help either. So my question is what flat packs will connect? or do I have to rewire the truck or use some sort of adapter? told ya i was new! The hobby shop owner insisted that the Reedy 5 cell would fit.. so i bought it and its got the wrong connection on it. Please help this old guy out!

I want one that will last at least 6 tanks of fuel.

you need a different on/off switch.. the one the losi has is the small (BEC) red plug.. you need to get a jr on/off switch with a standard black plug...

well ok.. there aren't any with the red plug? Everything I saw at the lhs had the black plug. It seems odd that you'd have to rewire just to use the flat pack.

I read the other threads on the same subject and it seems everyone is either making custom setups or using the 7.2v

most packs have the standard black connectors, but this is the pack that LOSI suggest to use with the LST [link=http://horizon.hobbyshopnow.com/products/description.asp?prod=DYN1431]dynamite battery link[/link]

thanks.. now I have a couple of options at least.

ever heard of anyone stuffing a hump pack under the fuel tank as well as the flat pack so you could just swap connections quick then just recharge both later.. or is that just a dumb idea?

sorry thats the wrong link i gave you ... the one correct one is 1000 mah, but the best thing to do is just swap out the on/off switch.. that way you have more battery options.. i use a 1100 hump pack, 1200 ofna flat pack , and a 1400 flat pack..

Fantomas,

Do you have a link to where you purchased your 1400 mah rx stick pack? Did it have the correct red BEC connector already on it? Does it fit under the LST without a problem? Thanks in advance...

The 1400 can be purchased at Horizon. No, it doesnt have the BEC style connector. Take Fantomas advice, and buy the switch. The only batter i've seen that comes with a BEC connector is the dynamite. Its not the standard, and its not the biggest battery you can buy either. So when you order the battery, order the switch harness too. You can buy them both at Horizon.

Yeah but it wont fit under the truck and it will undoubtedly add unnecessary clutter.

This battery pack will fit perfectly under your lst. It's connector is also an exact match.

Anybody have a link to a hump pack that will fit under the fuel tank? The matching connector would be nice but not necessary.

I am using an HPI 1200 mah hump pack (left over from my savage that I should have kept) under the gas tank. It lasts me four tanks of fuel.

after spending far too much time charging, I installed both a 1400 mah hump under the tank and a 1200 stick (under chassis) connected via Y harness - http://www.horizonhobby.com/Shop/ByC...ProdID=EXRA310

total capacity of 2600 mah - nice!

There was a big debate over this. It works with no complications? How long (tanks)have you been using it???

no issues so far...honestly, I just did this weekend, and haven't had to re-charge yet. I was getting ~ 4 tanks per charge on a 1100 mah hump.
