Default Would you buy a second LST ??

My LHS owner just called me and told me he has another LST in stock and made me an offer I can hardly refuse.$100 less than I paid for the first one and he wants to buy the radio from me right from the box.
I know at least one of you has 2 of these trucks but I need some help pushing me over the edge

What would you do ??

Do it!! Sell the pieces you don't need on ebay and recoup most of the cost. I don't see a down side.

Are you getting 100.00 off and then he will buy the radio for additonal money or is the 100.00 the discount minus the radio?
My LHS had a 2 hour sale on black friday . I was temepted to buy a second Losi but I had so many problems with the first I bought the Monster GT instead .
If you are buying the truck to make money do it . If you are buying as a second truck to run I would stay away .

I would wait till next winter to buy another losi LST.maybe buy then you wont have to wait 6 weeks to get simple replacment parts.the truck is tough but withought parts support they are dead in the water.I think HPI has the best buy in the SAVAGE but the LOST will woop its butt at the track if you dont break.

#8380? Wow, Losi is really pumping these things out. I wonder if the really low numbered trucks will be collector's items in a couple years?

You still never answered the question Pinolelst,

Are you getting 100.00 off and then he will buy the radio for additonal money or is the 100.00 the discount minus the radio?

Well two things are readily apparent to me.The CVD's are the updated Losi parts as the dogbone is slightly thicker at the shoulders and the axle itself looks to be made of a slightly different material and has 4 holes instead of 2 where the crosspin lives. Also ...I'm not sure if it was just my truck or not but my 2nd gear pinion only sat about 2/3 of the way on it's spur gear in my original truck and the spur gears had quite a bit of sideplay when new.Something I fixed by tapping new motor mount holes, elongating tranny mounting holes and shimming the spur assembly. No need to move anything with the new truck as you can see the spur and pinion mate perfectly and there's very little sideplay in the spur gear.

Hope this helps

jefx :Sorry it was $100 less and then he bought the radio for additional money.I gave him a good deal on the transmitter and receiver....maybe too good but he's been good to me in the past and it was for his personal ride so why not

edit: added that clutch springs are now silver.

Don't be.Now I've got two trucks to maintain.

Actually the new one is scheduled for a high voltage treatment once I recover from the shock of actually buying it.Engine, tranny (unless I use it for the e-version but I doubt it),fuel tank ,throttle and reverse servos etc...will be spares for the original.

I can go with that math for the moment and here is the amazing part. WATCH the bay! the tranny is worth about $110. the a-arms any where from $15.00-$40.00 per 4 so there is 2 of those sales, fuel tank $25.00, CVD's $15-$20 a pair, Now take the gears and slipper off the tranny before you sell if for $110 you would get almost $30 for those, wheels and tires $60.00 Shocks $100.00. So just right there (all are approximate from what I have seen) figure the min of each amount and that is $400.00 You got a GREAT deal man. and we havent even mentioned the motor or pipe yet [X(]

Also ...I'm not sure if it was just my truck or not but my 2nd gear pinion only sat about 2/3 of the way on it's spur gear in my original truck and the spur gears had quite a bit of sideplay when new.
my truck has the same thing ... should I fix it?

It's a personal choice I think. If you're stripping spur gears then yes I'd recommend you do it.If not I think the old adage "If it ain't broke don't try and fix it" should apply

Peace
