Default Help Please

Hi everyone

im new to this forum and would like a bit advice please, i've got an lst and am on my third engine as the oyher two went
bang on run in because of the "washer" but luckly i found this forum and removed the damm thing b4 it had chance
to eat a third!. anyway im pretty new to nirto and this is my first one, everything is going well, run in fine and now im
adjusting the carb for optimum performace, it starts fine from cold and ticks over nice, as i warm the truck up it runs well no
hesitation and smoke at all times, it goes through the gears 1 to 2 well and pulls a good speed and the running temp at current tune
is about 200.f, but when the lst is at temp it starts to bog &loose power in corners and then slowly pick up in the straights and clear
its self & when i bring it in for a temp test it just cuts out on tick over and will only start on throttle, it seems fine when i give full
power but if i back of or idle it just bogs and cuts out!
some help would be great, im sure its an easy fix but my knowlege of nitro r/c is very limited.

Thanks

SOunds to me your idle is set too low or your low speed needle is set too rich.Do the pinch test prscribed in your manual to set the low speed needle and adjust your idle speed.

Hope this helps

I had problems with an mc59 being to hot so I went to an OS#8 and it runs great in 50 degree weather.

It's too rich, that's why it's bogging down. Lean the HSN a bit. Don't be afraid to let the temps get up to 250. Anything below 270 is a safe temp.

Default RE: Help Please

thanks for the tips pinolest - jefx, but the engine has gone pop
b4 i had chance to test them! i started her up and was on idle
and after about 10 secs she died, try'd to start again but wouldn't
turn over! took her straight back to my lhs and on inspection there
was metal shavings in the crank and score marks on the piston sleeve plus
a crack in the piston top! now this is my third engine and even though im
a novice to nitro im not dumb and had ran each engine in to the letter!
granted the first too suffered the washer problem but this had no washer
in it!!! so i guess there is another fault! anyway the lhs gave me two options.
1, new mach 26 and start again.
2, 28 novarossi 8 port race engine instead of the mach 26 for no extra charge!

what do you think i should do????.

Holy Cow, [X(]a Nova 28-8 for the same price as a Mach 26, I would not have to think about that for more than a second.[X(]
