Default losi bead lock rims

I was wondering if the losi bead lock rims were actually bead locks or are they simulated bead locks?

They look like a simulation because you can see the edge of the rim on the outside of the beadlock.... they sure look killer though!

All they really need to do to be bead locks, is to have sheet metal threads that screw through the rims, and into the tyres, so they can't slip on the rims. these COULD be bead locks...I wonder if they are?

Who is selling them?

Got a link?

I think it would be cheesey to advertise beadlocks and have them not to be.

They've gotta be real beadlocks. They are twice the price of a standard wheel.

To bad for those of us that thought these were going to be real beadlocks, they are simply a glue-on wheel with an aluminum ring that bolts to the outside of the wheel with the smallest screws I have encountered for a MT.[&o]

Ok, now thats just a stupid move for Losi. A) Thats some bad mis-representation of a product. If i had ordered those from Horizon, they'd be going right back. B)Whats the point of the outer rings then? They are obviously an awesome idea for someone who has invested money in beadlocks. You could always replace rings, to make them look new again. While using the same wheel. But in this case, they arent beadlocks. Whats up with that...

MGTFix, does the Losi packaging for those wheels actually say "bead lock". I wonder if this is a Horizon mistake. Either way, they better get it fixed. Thats going to make people mad.

They look like they have more of an offset then the factory wheels have?

I have to agree with Thermal on the mis-representation of these wheels!! I was really hoping someone would (other than Maximizer) start making some plastic beadlocks[&o]

The package does say bead lock rims with blue rings, also I have seen the other bead lock ring packages(LOSB7005 red rings, LOSB7006 gold rings) which happen to be the same price on Horizon's site, they do not include the rims in these two packages. If anyone is thinking of buying these and you want gold or red rings, you must purchase the rims(LOSB7004) and the gold or red rings separately(LOSB7005 or LOSB7006).

I just got off the phone with Bill at Losi.

Matt: Are the beadlock wheels actual bead locks?

Bill (Losi): No, they just look like bead locks. They look real good though.

Matt: Have there been any updates to the main tranny shaft in the LST?

Bill (Losi): No

Matt: Do you plan on making a hardened part?

Bill (Losi): No

Matt: Are the hi performance brake pads supposed to be 2, or 3 in a pack?

Bill (Losi): 3

Agreed. They are a nice looking wheel. I really like that you can make them look new again with those rings. However, its very misleading. Its also kinda pointless to have the outer rings on a standard wheel like that. Eventually the tire WILL wear out, and you will likely have a nasty task of removing a tire from the wheel.
