Default Radios

What's the difference between the 27 and 75 mhz radios that come with the LST? [sm=confused.gif]

Is the 27 mhz synthesized?

Does one reach farther than the other?

Does one have more features?

What's the difference?

The 27mhz is not sythesised so you'll need xtals for it. I don't know about any of the other differences sorry mate

27 mhz = 6 crystal based channels to choose from
75 mhz = 30 synth channels to choose from

So the 27 mhz runs on crystals and you can only buy up to 6 different channeled crystals for it, and it only comes with one crystal, while the 75 mhz one comes with a synthesizer that reaches 30 channels without buying any extras.

Does the 27 have multi model memory and all the other things like exponential servo rates and all that jazz?

The reason I'm wondring is that on ebay there's one selling for $450 with the 27 mhz and I was wondering if it's worth it. Does anyone know if you can get a syntesizer module to fit in the 27? If so which one?

The JRX3 is not a module type radio. As far as I know you have to go up to the JR-1 for that feature and even then it's questionable if the available synth modules work with it as well

But the 27 has multi model memory, even with changing crystals?

Thats for saving different trims and epa settings etc, for different models that use the same crystal, its so you can multiple models running on the same crystal as different models will need different settings.

From all this, all that is different between the 75 and 27 is that the 75 is synthesized and the 27 runs on crystals?

Using synthesized signal processing, the XS3 allows racers to dispense with crystals and adjust their systemÂ’s signal to whatever frequency the track environment requires. No more sitting out a heat because someone else shares the same channel. Racers can simply tune in an unused frequency and continue racing.

I thought and still believe that the only dif is the 75 has 30 channels and the 27 has 6 TO CHOOSE FROM AT ANY GIVEN TIME.

I went to Horizon hobby and it looks like the 27 and 75 are the same except for the frequencies (both synth)

I also have the 27 and i have to agree i think the only difference on the us production model is that there are less channels to choose from!! No crystals at all! it is synthesized! If u need to change channel u just turn the dial on the receiver then u change the number to maytch on the radio! I am not sure if the 75 has a 20 model memory but the 27 is only 6! other than that they are the same radio!

Well, everyone thanks for all the responses.

Will the 75 reach 27 channels? I have 2 other cars that are both 27 and was wondering if I could use the 75 with those two

27 mhz and 75 mhz are completely different frequency ranges and you cannot control a 27 mhz receiver equipped vehicle with a 75 mhz transmitter. The benefit of the 30 channel 75 mhz really comes into play when you race or bash with large groups of people. You have 30 channels to choose from at the twist of a dial on the receiver and a few transmitter button pushes. The JR synth receivers for the 75 mhz ( #300 or #310) are usually around $75 USD. You don't necessarily have to use a synth receiver with a synth transmitter however abd you can buy JR compatible crystal based mini receivers for the same price you'd pay for a 27 mhz. Novak,hi-tec and gws come to mind right off as 3 mfg.'s who make small 75 mhz receivers ranging from about $20 USD to around $100 with quite a few at the $40-$60 range

hope this helps

I know the 75 mhz version comes with a synth receiver but can't speak to the 27 mhz.I'd imagine that if the TX is then the RX would be as well. One of the UK guys can probably be more helpful
