RE: Proline 40 series tires & rims
I'm also considering going the 40 series route, only with Moabs and the 23mm hex system. How do the tires compare to the stocks? I know they are not as wide or high. I strictly bash and my LST has never seen a paved road yet I'm quite happy with the stock tires and also considered getting those bead-lock wheels and another set of stock rubber. My LHS doesn't carry the Moabs in stock yet so any info on how they handle and hold up would be appreciated.

The 40 series help the truck a bit - the stock tires are heavy and the gyro effect you get from them when jumping makes the truck hard to control - The 40 series eliminate the gyro problem and still make the truck lookk huge. I haven't used the 23mm hex yet - this summer when racing starts I believe that's what I'll be running tho.

RE: Proline 40 series tires & rims
I have managed to collect several different styleso of the XTM large series tires and wheels. I just got the Velo's but they look like they would be the business on the street. I will be running them this weekend. I run the BRT1's on Gunmetal Pentos and can vouch for their toughness. The only place I know of that you can buy them is [link=http://www.hobbypeople.net/prdcls/carwormt10.asp]Hobby People.[/link]
MadRCPilot77 is right about the weight and all wheels need to get away from the Tmaxx standard 14mm hexes, they are just too small. I have started checking my pin in my Hexes after every major outing because if that pin shears, and it does often you can spin the wheel inside the wheel nut and it will get hot and ruin the wheel very quickly. I have not done this yet but I have come close.

RE: Proline 40 series tires & rims
I would like to know if anyone is have probs. keeping their 40 series tires on the rim. I have a set of proline 40 series rims with proline Masher tires and I can't keep them on the rim. Almost after every run I have to reglue because the LST just blows the tires off the rim.
I would love these tires and rims if it wasn't for this prob. I just put my stockers back on until I can find some super epoxy to weld them to the rim .

I have a set of Moabs on the 23mm velocity rims and suffer an occasional bead blow out.I think maybe there's some sort of mold release on them that should've been removed before gluing. One potential benefit unless it's truly every run for you is that they may come off easier if/when they ever wear out

Well took the firballs out this weekend they work pretty sweet on the pavement no rollover good grip... the worked nice in ther dirt as well my truck definatly handled the jumps better that with the stockers so no complaints from me after all that they seem to be holding up as well not too much wear on them..... i might get another set because my LHS has them on sale for 22.00 so its worth it
