Thx & did I forget something?
First, a big thank you to everyone who has posted his/her problems on this forum over the last several months. It was during this time, reading and researching about everyone's problems, that I decided to go with the Losi LST. It came down to that, the MGT or the new Savage. All of your rantings, both good and bad, helped sway my decision. I am picking up my LST this afternoon, and as such I know I need:
to check the dreaded washer (I believe the serial # was in the 12000 range though - so may not be a prob)
to check the clutch springs - make sure they are the silver ones
get the aluminum diff cases
get two NIMH packs
Did I forget something?
Thanks much!

Thank you Hezrou, I ordered the gear cover from nitrohouse. About the A-arms... is it worth it to upgrade to aluminum, or would that just move the stress point to something more exoensive to replace?

If the truck is over #12000, no need to look for a washer - it won't be there.
I'd definately recommend a failsafe as well, but outside of that you've got everything [8D]

Failsafe is a good idea, LST already has a throttle return spring.
Secondary Gear cover from E-bay imho is MUCH better than the LOSI. LOSI leaves a hole on the bottom almost defeating its purpose. If you get the LOSI, you will need to make sure you tape up the bottom or rig something else to close the hole.

I just ordered the Dynamite fail safe, as reccomended by MadRC, and the gear cover is the upgraded one with the extra lexan cover on the backside. I haven't found anything other than the aluminum replacement cover, or a stock replacement. Good to know that the truck already has a return spring, thanks!

Hef,
If you like wrench'n, i would get a screw kit also. hexscrews .com is just one site that has them. They make harder metal screws. The stock screws are soft metal and seem to strip easy. ALSO dont forget to get a GOOD set of wrenchs....will make the difference for sure.

If your just bashing, get the aluminum a-arms. I have not had any problems with transfering the damage other then snaping a turnbuckle. But upgrading to titanium fixed that pretty quick. I ran the right side of my truck straight into a fence post last weekend and absolutely nothing broke. I am positive I would have ripped the whole wheel off if I was not running aluminum.

RE: Thx & did I forget something?
Awesome suggestions everyone!!!! got the New Era roll bar on a sticky on my puter... I'll need to check finances prior to that purchase. Ordered the Stainless screw set, and I already own a set of craftsman hex. I will consider the aluminum, providing I can off-set the extra weight with some carbon fiber, since I will be racing a couple of times a month. Thanks again everyone!
