40 SERIES BOWTIES
I put on some 40 bowties and heading to the indoor track on Sat. How much do they actually slow the topend down? It has an approx 75' straight, and with the stockers the shift point and speed was good. Do I need to adjust the shift point for the smaller tires?
Thanks...
Thanks...

The 40 series are great and they do not slow the truck down to were you are not competitive. You might need to adjust your shift point, but the handling will be be great

As long as you don't have any large jumps you will be fine with the 40 series bow ties. I used them on a track with large jumps and I continuously broke CVDs, axles, and axle pins. They just don't have as much cushion as the stock tires. That's why the new King Pin tires have a larger side wall.

RE: 40 SERIES BOWTIES
40's hooked up great...
Busted out one inside of the rims and one CVD. It was on the long straight and not on a jump.(CVD may have broke earlier???) A wild Savage turned in front of me at about 3/4 down the straight and I cartweeled.
The speed was slightly less, and it shifted a little later than with the bigger tires.
Needless to say, they are off the truck and BRT1's and Pentos are on order...
