Collari? Mach? Wasp? Pico? SH?
Well, my Mach has been run enough to lose compression, and it's time to replace it or rebuild it (probably both actually...can always use a spare..) and I'm looking for advice.
I was diligently watching PinoleLST's Collari post, but it appears to have died?
Fot the record, my Mach only has 12 litres through it (less than 4 gallons). It still runs well when it's cold, and makes heaps of power, but dies once it gets hot, and has to cool down substantially before I can start it again. The fact that 3 times in the past, the air cleaner has fallen off while bashing, and so much dirt has been sucked in that teh carb has seized up each time, has probably contributed to it's early significant wear.
What can you guys suggest as a more powerful, easy to tune, reasonably priced replacement? I really am just thinking another mach, but won't look past a better alternative.
Also: if anyone has a non used, or VERY SLIGHTLY used engine, I'll consider that as well.

For the Price and the Power I'd go with another Mach, Or for $10 Less you can get the Sportswerks 26 ,It's the Same as the Mach But has a Better Carb. Plus you already Know how to tune it and what its going to Run like.
Just my 2 cents, Later Jason
www.horizonhobby.com Just put Car Engines +26 in the search and you should see them.

Hi Guys....With all this talk about power and all, has anyone ever seen anything like we used to do with our drag racing cars. What we had was a"cool can". It was a can with a coil of copper fuel line coiled aound the inside of the can and you put ice or sometimes dry ice in the cener of the can. This would allow more fuel to be crammed into the engine, thus more power. I wonder if some simular idea could cool & compress the fuel before entering engine? I know Losi is concerned about the fuel filter being so close to the engine causing vapor lock or something like that happening. Just a thought!

Thanks for all of the great input guys, it looks liek I am going to rebuild the Mach and buy another one as well from the bay. I had a couple offers of good prices for the SH .28, but they were still quite a bit more money than I can get a good Mach for online, and sometimes it's better the devil you know. I'm still really interested in how the Collari performs, but no one seems to be sharing much about it.
