Default Which tires?

I need a set of tires for the track outdoor clay with a semi loomy surface when not watered.
I'm down to the new King Pins on Magneto wheels or the BRT1 on Pentos wheels or if they fit the BRT1 on the Magneto wheels.
To be honest I like the lower profile look of the BRT1, the King Pins look like they should be on a clown car.

The price on the BRT1 Pento combo is pretty expensive though, unless there is a cheaper place then Hobby People.

King Pins on Magneto wheels would be about $80.00
BRT1 on Pentos wheels would be 97.00 before shipping.

personally im getting the BRT1's on pentos (they wont fit magnetos) because they are also a decent bash tyre and alot of people have them so they are a proven good combination.

I agree I think I'm going for the BRT Pentos combo; it looks like the tire Losi should have produced for the LST.
Out of all the tires I've seen they look the most proportional to me. Not to big not to small.
It seems like the overall opinion on the King Pins are very mixed at this point.

I just put the BRT-1/Pentos combo on my LST over the weekend. I bought based upon all the good comments here on the forum. After running it for a few tanks, I have to say that they were right on the money. These tires are excellent. Using the stock servos and servo savers along with the BRT-1's, it now turns better than my 1/10 scale stadium truck. Traction is excellent on hard pack with a very loose surface and they also hooked up well on damp loam with some hardpack mixed in. It is also much more stable when sliding. In some situations where a slide would've caused a roll-over before, now it will just do a donut and continue on.

Thought I'd post a pic of her in her new shoes...

OK that picture and review just clinched it for me. I just ordered mine.

Thanks! My gut feeling all along was to get those over the Clown Pins.

What's the diameter on those tires? They look larger than the 40 series.

My gorgeous new XTM Pentos arrived today[8D]
Though I’m wondering if I should have got BRT1’s instead of Meats?[&:]
Do I really need to glue the tires to the rims? I only intend to bash lightly
Sorry to hear about the custom charges Kevin, mine slipped through unmolested

yeah i had that decision to make - i chose the BRT1's.

yes you definatly do need to glue them! any super glue will do. its easy, just do it

yeah the customs charges were a bummer, but its okay, ive had loads of other parcels come through without - and this parcel was a big one (alot more than just a set of wheels). it wasnt bank -bkreaing, and ive still saved money.

td enterprise-

They are a lot taller than 40 series with bow ties. I don't own them, but from the pics I've seen on here, they look a hair taller than the stock LST tires. You can buy them here:

yeah I didn't see the BRT's on the listed link, found the pentos though.

I do actually want the King pins, but nobody seems to have them in stock online. I have yet to find a good link to buy them

kevinb456 thanks for the info. i got home today and saw for myself. could not wait to see if they would work. oh well. i already have the brts w/ pentos but first race w/ them my l/r shaft and nut pulled thru part way. bummer!!! (fixed it with a washer) so i ordered the thorn not realizing they might not fit. now all i need to do now is get the brts off the pentos w/out messing them up

I'm considerinng purchasing the BRT 1 / Pentos as so many of you have already.. Tell me if you will where I can purchase this comb wheel and tire. There seems to be such a wait for the Losi King Pins, I've decided to go with the BTR 1 / Pentos combo. Thanks DBM [8D]

yeah I ordered my king pins like 3 weeks ago and they still haven't even come in.

can someone post a picture of the BRT or list the actual part number or actual name of the tire.

BRT doesn't come up on any searches. I did find the pento wheels though, black will look nice on the new crowd pleaser body I'm airbrushing.

One more question. I see the Losi Bead Lock wheels listed that have the small screws and rings that go on the rims. Do these screws on the rings take the place of glueing the tires to the rims? Has anyone used these yet, and can you give a report? [8D][8D] Thanks DBM

yeah I was affraid of that, they look almost the same as the stock LST tires, I like the idea of the King pins being smaller with the different tread.

I would like to find out what the hold up is on the king pins.

what would be a good alternative tire for the king pin thats available? The dog bonz look almost like the king pins.
